Of couse everyone should know each person has a different depiction of what is the best of Final Fantasy even in 2D.

The general consensus though is that Final Fantasy VI is indeed the best not only in 2D but in all of theFinal Fantasy installments. Although it's not my favorite, I too, consider Final Fantasy VI to be the pinnacle of the Final Fantasy franchise as of yet.

I concur to the highest level of agreement... however I have never played FFVII the supposed best FF ever.. maybe those players have just not played VI?

The prize? The World Cup sitting next to the Super Bowl Championship sitting next to the NBA Championship Cup sitting next to the world series trophy all inside the Stanley Cup! That's the prize ;)

Is that even possible? If so, can you draw me a diagram or give me a map to that sentence?

I feel that the villain is the most important element.. The more evil and maniacal he is, the more he is despised by the civillians and protagonists, the more you want to see him be squashed, the better quality of a villain he is.
I've played FFVI three times and I still get angry at what kefka does. His constant back stabbing and thirst for ultimate power. I just want to stop him and so I play the game. I get stronger by training for hours, I've wasted ten days of my life,  just to see him be vanquished over and over again.
 I guess I'm a little crazy too.

[QUOTE="Jurgus_13"] I thoroughly recall that somewhere in this union or maybe it was the final fantasy experience union, We decided to match up link and cloud. Now what happened was Link one by default. This is because Link was able to go back in time (being the hero of time) and defeat cloud. This is because when Link was a child, he was a hero skilled in the way of the sword, where as cloud was just a kid. Couldn't this information be used in the same way for Link to automatically win? Whenever making a, "who do you think would win" thread. try to include someone who is much older than link therefore it wouldn't matter if he went back in time (to some extent anyways) an example of this would be kratos.. but then Kratos would obviously win...

Uh, doesn't the time travel need special circumstances or something? I haven't played OOT but I'm pretty sure he can't just do it the middle of a fight.

Actually he can do it whenever he wants and yeah that includes the middle of a fight.. time even stops when he whips out his trusty orcarina
