@HairyMetalHead @Juon408 But here's an honest question. Is it really worth throwing down 400-600$ for a console that's likely to fail and have to rebuy it or wait for your warranty to get back to you? Not being biased here. I'd ask the same to any Sony or Nintendo fan as well.
@tajirinere @Juon408 If I troll, it's all in harmless good fun. Back when I owned my 360. I trolled Sony fans just as much as I troll Xbox fans now. It's like a competitive sport. You root for your team. Granted, without the assbeatings in a stadium parking lot. lol
@instigator81 @Juon408 Some of them probably are non-issues, but you are right. Anyone that buys hardware at launch deserves to have it fail on them, no matter if it's Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Samsung, Apple, or whoever.
@tajirinere @Juon408 First rule of Sony, never buy launch hardware. Wait til the next few waves are out so they have time to iron out the bugs better. It's common knowledge with any electronics.
@instigator81 @Juon408 Exactly! That's what I was trying to say in that wall of text and pointing to examples of where these bugs would come from. Some of these people, you can't tell them anything about launch hardware. They think they know it all.
@HairyMetalHead @Juon408 I wasn't being biased at all. I was warning people about buying the system at launch which it seems a lot of people are in a rush to do and not taking any of the last minute changes into consideration and writing it all off as being a "fanboy" or "biased" as you put it.
Would I rush out to buy a Nintendo or Sony console at launch? **** no, because launch systems don't have all the bugs ironed out. That was the whole point of what I said.
What you Xbox fans don't seem to realize is that the console is likely going to have a lot of issues come launch. The news about the overheating and the overdriving of the fans are one of the problems facing it. Fans can and will fail. The Kinect news about how it was required for the system to even function and now you don't need it at all says that either Microsoft lied about it the whole time or they have to do some massive reconfiguring of the console to pull it off.... Just four months out from launch time. That's not enough time to reconfigure the hardware, do testing, tweek, do more testing, and then get it mass produced for commercial consumption. That's surely going to cause some hardware issues or complete system failure because of it.
Add on top of that the patch to remove the always-online DRM mechanics, which if the Wii U, amongst other hardware are any indication. Day one patches could also bring some issues along with it. In the case of the Wii U, it did brick some consoles. So I'd be a little wary about the patch but that's because I like to be cautious. Also, there's the 3 OSes that it's apparently running as well, at the same time, and the whole switching thing between the apps running on those 3 OSes and games? Expect some glitching or lag if they don't have that ironed out fully. They need to put all that into sleep mode while playing a game overwise that could lead to heating issues and lagging. Which the may have designed it like that from the get-go. We don't know because they've not went into too much detail about it.
But mark my words Xbox fans. If you're smart, you'll wait until a later wave to get one.
