While I have been playing the BF games on the XBOX for some time, I really have enjoyed BF3....for the most part. While I am glad Dice finally did something about the constant freezing during extra long multiplayer matches and the complete sound cut-off on maps like Wake Island, I am most disapointed in the "high resolution" graphics for BF3, in particular the latest Armored Kill expansion. If someone was to ask me which expansion I was most excited for, I would have said the latest one, but after playing it, I left feeling underwheled and unimpressed.

I realize that when a user first installed BF3 on their console they were given the option to download the high resolution texture graphics add-on, which i did. Some maps look great such as Wake Island, Back to Karkand, Kharg Island, and Gulf of Oman, but some (Terran Highway) suffered in the graphically detail department. The new maps don't seem to pop out graphically as well, running them on a fairly new 1080p Panasonic plasma, I still feel as if this map pack should have been "more".

The most disapointing is the Bandar Desert map, which claims to be the largest map in BF history, but it's also one of the most uninspiring too. Finding an enem solider is practically impossible, there are very few vehicles it seem, and is by bar the blandest when it comes to details.

The C130 was an interesting add-on, but everyone seems to be waiting for it to spawn, and once in, the thing moves incredibly slow, making for an easy target from the enemy jets, since it appears your own teammates which one would assume would provide some air support usually are off doing something else.

Don't get me wrong, BF3 is a great game, and very enjoyable and for the most part the map packs (all of them) are a lot of fun, but this latest one left me feeling as if they made the maps bigger but didn't seem to compensate for it (more vehicles per map, etc).

Lastly, I am noticing game freeze-up's again, occuring on the new maps. I realize there are probably patches and fixes being worked on for an update title update (#5) but I sincerely hope Dice gets all of this issues addressed when BF4 hits.

Curious if anyone else feels the same way, with regards to the graphics not being up to par, freezes, etc with this new expansion.

At PAX last weekend they were handing out a code card which features a unique code that unlocks 10 tickets for use in the Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Multiplayer Tournament System. I don't own a PS3, thus I have no need for this. Code is good between 8/30/12 to 8/30/13. First person who sends me a private message here I can provide the code, just hate to see it go to waste. I will post again in this thread when it has been given out.

Went to PAX recently here in Seattle, was given an End of Nations unique key for a 7-day 50% XP boost that takes into effect at the beginning of the open beta. I don't play the game, hate to see it go to waste, so if anyone wants the code is below. It says to log in with your Trion Worlds account to use. Hopefully someone can use it, please post here if you have used it so others know it's been used:  P6G6-MNWF-Q23R-EXZC-HEQ9.

The single-shot thing can get really annoying as I have switched weapons and then tried to come back to the original one hoping it had "reset" itself but found it doesnt help at all.

The sudden 3rd person perspective camera angle following another player is quite baffling, and does only occur on the new maps. For some reason I will be playing, and then it will switch and I find myself hovering behind another player but I can still fire my weapon off into limbo, and it will stay like that unitl someone kills my character or I commit sucide for my character. Hopefully it's a glitch that gets corrected soon, as I am sure they are already working on another title update to patch the game.

Anyone else out there who purchased the Premium Pass (and didn't complain about it) noticing the glitches in the game now that the Close Quarters DLC is out? So far I have noticed at times an assault rifle weapon such as the F2000 after a while will suddenly switch from automatic to semi-automatic single shot rounds. I don't recall it ever doing that before.

Another odd thing I have noticed is at random times, even though my character hasn't died, the camera angle will suddenly switch from my perspective to following another player. I can't even be found on the map, but I end up watching another player but I still can fire my own weapon (blindly I might add). To fix this I have to then have my character commit suicide and come back into the game.

Anyone else noticing these issues?

Obviously money is no object to you. You're most likely a kids that mom and dad buys everything for.or an teenager that has a little.money because they live with or off of mom and dad...either way you do not have children....or you work for ea. As a parent with not a lot of money.... I feel ripped! Anyway. I just bought b2k approx 3 weeks ago. Had bf3 but up to 3 months ago no internet for the ps3. So to make a long story short. I boug b2k because we were getting kicked from rooms when they went to thos rooms. So know they put out the premium package and of course my kids want it....and i don't blame them. I too feel ripped off as a consumer that there is no discount or consideration given to those who paid extra for that map. As was said it wouldn't be hard and though no one is under any obligation to do anything....including buying ea products at all....you're right it is a choice....but its the choices of ea consumers that makes them their millions....why do something that pisses off the very people that made those millions happen? Kinda like biting the hand that feeds you! I am thinking ea is happy making its millions so not too worried but its when business is not so good...its customers will remember back when!Nomadd67

No, I am not a kid, and I don't rely on Mommy and Daddy to pay for my XBOX Live like so many others do. I own my own business and work hard for my money, but when I am a fan of a game, I don't mind paying for content such as the Premium Pass. This isn't required to play online like what is charged for other games, requiring a special pass code that comes free with new copies but with used copies, people are forced to pay to play online, which I will agree isn't right or fair, but the BF3 Premium Pass is basically paying for expansion packs, which isn't anything new, it's been going on for YEARS and very few people have complained. This should be of no surprise to you, or anyone.

When you purchased the game, you purchased what came with the game at that time. If you were onboard early, you would have gotten the Back to Karkand DLC map pack for free, which was a BONUS. Did you get in an uproar over the free content then? Doubtful as who would complain for something that is free, but now that they are adding new expansion packs, and you are required to purchase them IF you choose to get them, you are upset about it? Why? It is extra content that wasn't part of the original game, do you think the developers should just give them out for free? The Premium Pass is a better deal by making the one time purchase now, then buying the map packs individually, but at the same time, people are given the choice...not only to buy it all now, or buy it as it is released, or to not buy it at all. You can still play the game online with others, you just won't be able to play the newer content.

Are we are supposed to punish EA for making money? Are they not in business to make a profit? Do you go into a resturant and demand they charge you their cost for your meal? No, so what makes EA any different? Chaging people to play online is one thing, but charging people for extra content in the form of expansion packs is something entirely different. If YOU don't like the fact that EA is charging people for extra content, simply don't support EA and don't purchase any of their games, it is YOUR choice, but regardless of what game you buy by any company, all will charge for extra content in some form or another.

With regards to the latest update, while I have downloaded it, and the Premium Pass, I will admit I have not had time to play any BF3 since the download so I will check for the sound issues dropping off on Wake Island and the game freezing up on high ticket games on Operation Metro. Hopefully both have been fixed. My XBOX is a fairly new system, and is the latest model so I cant imagine it is getting hot enough to freeze up but because the issues were on those two maps, and seems to be others are having the same issue, it sounds like its game-related, and not a person's system.

Yep, lemme guess it was a metro?

I find if the tickets are around the 1000+ ticket mark, then it kicks me and my friends

CondorCalabasas

Yes the freezing up is on Operation: Metro but another issue I have had for quite some time is when I am playing Wake Island, a times much of the sound cuts out, and there are times when all of the sounds cut out and then I am playing the game with zero sound at all. These are issues that should be addressed but haven't, curious since people are having issues with the freezing if they are having the same issue with sound dropping off on Wake Island?

Also, **** off with your 'It comes down to a choice'. Yeah, wether or not we continue to subject ourselves to these money grabbing fools who simply do not care about their loyal customers, or simply say no and let them milk the idiots who'l move on to each and every new FPS to come out until this games demise.

Vozlov

Sounds like it would be easier if you simply don't purchase another EA title since you feel cheated and upset that they don't cater themselves around what you want.
