Actually, looks like I might be able to score a free copy of Metro Last Light from Nvidia with a purchase of the 660 GTX card.  That's one hell of an incentive!

Great link, thanks!

In Canada I can get the GTX 650 TI for $179 + tax.  The 660 is over $220.  In your opinions, worth going to the 660?

Hey guys,

Looking to upgrade my videocard.  Currently have a Radeon HD5770 that I bought several years ago.  Not sure if it matters but my board and CPU are AMD-based (CPU = FX-6100).

I'm looking to switch to Nvidia tech this time around and move away from ATI (or AMD now), and looking to spend around $200.  Is it possible to actually get a big performance boost from an HD5770 with a $200 budget?

Thanks!

IF you have your guys who have an ARC, and it's his turn, you'll notice a light-blue circle around enemies you CAN stun.  For enemies you can't stun, the line doesn't show up.  I used this as an easy way to figure out what I can stun.

Keep in mind that anything you stun, you get the gear for.  PLasma rifles, pistoles, etc.  Very handy early on.  Very handy to have a stockpile incase some random order comes through.  I had an order for 7 light plasma rifles, came in handy, $1000.

After 30+ hours and a TON of shots fired, I haven't had any issues with the hit % and I've played TONS of games that have had them (going way back to the original 2D fallout games).

While I've never had a hit miss on 95% I have had some frustrating runs of bad luck.  I.e. 90% missing or 85% missing a few in a row, which can suck.  But that's what happens when a dice is rolled.  A 95% chance isn't a guarantee, nor any other high percentage chance.

What would the dev benefit in messing with these numbers?  Nothing.  The game is difficult enough.

And for the guy missing a 100% chance to hit, I find it difficult to believe that it would happen (I am NOT saying you're lying btw)... Has that been reported anywhere else by anyone else?

Why do they not release a torrent in order to download the client!?  Makes no sense at all, of course their servers will fail when tens of thousands try downloading a 14gb file at high speed....

[QUOTE="stangvssupra"]assassin is bad ass because you can get an augment from the strider class that lets you climb faster and reduces your stamina burned while climbing, this lets you climb enemies quicker and then use Dirge Gorge (sword ability) continuously till you bring it down. cyclops and golems are no match. the class allows you to switch between weapons so it allows for more strategy when you select skills and it raises your strength fairly quickly as compared to mystic knight. i believe the mystic knight is flawed because you have to connect with the shield for most of its moves to work . so you have no ranged combat. also the sword is fairly slower than the daggers and there are some enemy types that are easily disposed with daggers while the same enemy (because of its speed) is a bigger challenge with a swordSethCypher
Actually, Mystic Knight is most devastating when played as a ranged character. Lay down your Great Cannon groundwork and Ruinous Sigils all over the place. You generally don't really need to climb on giant monster's backs to lay waste to them.

Was gonna say that.  And lots of the mystic knight's shield skills are actually buffs that can be activated anytime.  If you apply fire damage and then use the great cannon, it oblierates anything airborn and can clear herds of smaller monsters instantly.  It's highly overlooked.

That's not to say assassin isn't good as well, though.  I'm actually leveling him up to try out the perk that gives you a huge bonus when you're completely alone.  That should be fun!  I've tried playing with just my main pawn, but not alone yet.

I think the reason the game gets much more easy is like you said the healing items but even more its the pawns. Its very easy to buy the best pawns in the game at a very low level. I have Roll and Thantos and that gives me a tank and a utility mage. If you add in my utility mage and my strider abilities and it really takes away alot of the difficulty.

You should not be able to get the "best" pawns in the game by level 12. It kinda undermines the whole system. I am guessing they are supposed to die once in awhile but they never seem to. I am hoping that when I switch to another area the game will pick up the heat again.

rasputin177

That's actually a good point about the pawns.  I seem to have more RC than I know what to do with.  I could easily hire a pair of level 60 pawns right now, if I wanted to.  They may have to tweak the amount of RC return for when your own pawn gets loaned out.

One video review I watched mentioned that the 360 version has techical issues with freezing durring combat?  Anyone know if this has been fixed or is just isolated to the 360 version?

keabrown79

I was also worried about this but got the 360 version anyways and I'm happy I did.  After about 30 hours I have had ZERO issues, no freezing / hitching during combat or crashing, nothing at all.  I'm impressed so far with the lack of bugs, honestly.

I agree, I think the difficulty was exagerrated in several previews (OXM) I had watched.  Granted, I did have a bit of trouble at first, but that's mainly because I didn't know what I was doing.  A few hours in and I had no issues.

The only true difficulty is when you encounter monsters that you're supposed to fight when you're mugh higher, but I don't find it all that bad.  Depending on how bad you get owned, you usually know if you should or shouldn't be fighting X monster :)
