I'd just like to see an option for the profanity to be filtered. I understand that developers might want a game to seem gritty and feel like the streets of some crime-ridden city, but what if I don't want to hear that stuff in my house?
With the tools and flexibility that computers give developers, I don't think there is an excuse for excluding the option. What if I have children and I don't want my children hearing those things? Some might say, "Don't buy the game then," and that is very likely to happen anyway, but again, with the flexibility the developers have, I wish they would take advantage of it.
Why do I buy games? Do I buy a game because it has "M" stamped on the box? Certainly not! I buy a game because it will allow me to have fun and serve as a get awaycar from the real world. Profanity is a controversial thing. If developers make a game for me, the consumer, to enjoy, shouldn't they make my gaming experience as good as possible?
Perhaps I'm in such a small minority that developers don't care. If so, I'll be playing less games. T for teen? All right, here I come. What games are rated T anymore?
It probably sounds like I'm whining - sorry if that is so. I just wish that there was the option.
