Games ive played recently: Rock Band, Mass Effect, Neverwinter Nights 2, Super Mario Galaxy, Assassins Creed

Rock Band exceeded my expectations, I got it expecting it to be about Guitar Hero level of fun, with the drums being a cool new addition to try to master, but it was far more than that, its one of the most fun game experiences Ive had in a long time. Band World Tour is just so much fun, especially when you have all four parts there, playing online with friends is awesome, the setlist is outstanding, theres maybe 3 songs I dont like, and it has tons of awesome downloadable content.

Mass Effect met my expectations, which is saying a lot since Bioware is may favorite dev and KOTOR is my favorite game of all time

Neverwinter Nights 2 is better than I expected, it has its issues, but its a fun roleplaying experiences with a great story

Super Mario Galaxy was a bit of a disappointment. Its well designed and a great game, but imo its not the pinnacle of platforming many make it out to be. It has a few issues, but those arent the main disappointment, its just isnt as much fun as I expected and theres definetely platformers that I would consider maybe not better games as far as production goes, but definetely more fun

Assassins Creed was great, it meet my expectations. It was a little repetitive with the information gathering, but other than that I thought the game was really good game.

Lol this is a classic argument,its been done so many times in the past. Anyway, my opinion is NG is better than GOW. I think GOW is awesome, but NG's combat is just so far above GOW's. IMO NG has the best combat system of any Action Adventure game. The story is better in GOW imo, but the NG is servicable and does a good enough job of driving the game forward and making it enjoyable, so it doesnt come close to ruining the game or anything. As level design goes, their both very different from each other in the goal they try to achieve, and I think they both do an equally good job in both games.

Super Mario Galaxy and Mass Effect. I would actually put ME closer to a 9, but id say SMG deserves about an 8.5 imo from what ive played so far.

Its lots of fun so far, I have about 45 stars I think. Great game but so far I do see why it recieved GOTY. IMO Bioshock and Mass Effect were both better games. It is the best platformer Ive played in a long time though, and ill save my final opinion until ive beaten the main story and get get a lot of more stars.

Bioware games have not gotten worse, they have remained the same im quality imo. Ive played Baulders Gate and Neverwinter Nights, they are both awesome but imo KOTOR is better than both of them. Jade Empire has been the worst Bioware game ive played, but it was still very good and Mass Effect is right up there with Neverwinter Nights KOTOR and Baulders Gate.

Oblivion in my experience. The game would stutter a lot especially outside, had annoying load times and would freeze up for me on occassion. The only real glitch I run across in mass effect consistently is the popping in of textures.

[QUOTE="Newnab"]

[QUOTE="Bren128"]Clears throat, i know some of you ms fans arent really used to playing good rpgs, but anything under 30 hours (sidequests included) in the rpg world is pretty much below average. Maersyndel

Actually we're used to playing the highest rated RPG of all time, KOTOR.

BAHAHA. That about sums it all up. KotoR is a travesty (though not quite as bad as Jade Empire), not only against the great RPGs that exist out there, but even against Bioware's own heritage. Have a look for Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and see Bioware when they knew how to make games.

As for Mass Effect, it looks great, and sounds like it plays well. Maybe Bioware are getting back to making good games again?

Ive played Neverwinter Nights, Baulders Gate, KOTOR and Jade Empire, and imo KOTOR is better than all the others. Its all a matter of opinion, and in most peoples Bioware has continued to make outstanding games to this date.
