If we go based on Halo 2 and what's been shown of Halo 3, I'd honestly prepare yourself for a huge disappointment. Unless you're only in it for the multiplayer, but even then, then innovations seem few and far between over Halo 2. I say this as a Halo fan, but I'm just ready for a let-down.

Yeah, actually I always expect Gamespot to have a really non-emotional, distant way of previewing, but they sounded pretty excited when talking about this game, even though they never directly said so. The more I see of these gameplay videos (esp. the hi def ones on GT), the less cautious I get. I think they game is really gonna kick some.

They didn't sound super impressed with it from the preview. I realize they're not supposed to offer critique in a preview, but seriously some impressions would have been OK. Maybe Sony wouldn't let them say anything about whether they liked it or not... weird man. Can't wait for the demo!!

And seriously, guy, I'm not sure what that screen-name is supposed to mean, but Warkunt evokes some pretty vividly bizarre imagery. Maybe change that up.

Alright, we're done here. I'm pretty sure you're just messing with people anyway. Mostly me ;) which is guess is pretty funny. I really hope you're not serious, but I'm pretty sure now you're not. Could someone lock this thread?

No way, guys. Exclusive games traditionally are the best games on any respective system. Agreed it would be better if you could have as many people play them as possible, but man look at all the PS2, Xbox, and GC games. ALL exclusive, because they're designed ground-up with that hardware in mind. Trust me, you don't want to see an end to exclusives or you'd say a phenomenal watering-down of games. That's like saying all bands should play the same songs... you're overlooking a system's strengths when you try and cram different code into it. Why do you think the PS3 ports look by and large a bit worse than the 360 games they're based on? Not cuz it's monkey programming, and it's certainly not cuz the PS3 ain't a more powerful machine (No fanboy comments, please... just look at the specs). It's cuz it's based on non-optimized code.

Running on Wii and X360 with the Playstation and Sony logos on the bottom of the screen? Come on, man. I'm on the site right now and it just looks like special features adjuncts to God of War II.

Alright, can you explain to me via Tim how this is going to happen? I guess I don't understand how corporate IP can be bought by another corporation. It's like Microsoft purchasing iTunes. And what possible falling out could Sony Santa Monica have with Sony corporate? They've just produced the two biggest games, arguably in the PS2's lifespan. And from the looks of the special features, Cory Barlog and the rest of the guys are pretty happy there.

Sometimes you gotta remember, especially with the anxiety-stricken PS3 fanboy, that these little conjectures can blow up into internet-wide speculation and rumor. Maybe that was your intention, but think about whether or not it's responsible.

I don't think it's the worst thing in the world. In fact, I think it might be a step in the right direction. GTA:SA was an amazing game, one of my favorite of all time, but it became completely ridiculous at some points. The plane, trains, and automobiles approach was starting to be a bandaid that they were expanding their games laterally, not vertically. Meaning they weren't adding a deeper, richer more full world, just more more more. I think what they're talking about with GTA IV is building down into the world. I love the idea of pedestrians really doing something on the street. The world's going to feel completely alive. And BTW, they said no planes. I'm sure there's still gonna be some helicopters and what not.

Please guys, do not let this guy start a rumor about God of War III multiplatform. It's literally impossible. It's not like Sony Santa Monica is a second party development team, they're first party, meaning they're part of the Sony Corporation. For that reason, any and all products that they produce are also consequently owned by Sony. There is no possible way of GOW III going multiplatform - it'd be like Sam Raimi saying "I think I'm gonna make Spiderman 3 with Universal."

I love how these guys always have a nameless friend who magically saw some stuff, but nobody thought to ask any specifics when they talked about it. So awesome.
