This culture has such a short term memory. It's really a shame that these games, great as they are, are truncating attention spans at an unparalleled rate. I remember similar criticisms being levied at the Xbox 360 and the PS2 when they came out as well. The only difference is the Xbox 360 is an established foil for the PS3. You absolutely can't judge a console within the first six months of its launch. If we can all speak truthfully, Oblivion and Gears of War are the only important games that have come out for the 360, and both fairly recently. Gerstmann, stop ranting about VF5 cuz its not going to be online for 360 either.. Sega won't do it. People love to watch a Giant stumble. They love to see the leader trip itself up. Sony probably should have delayed the launch a bit, but I think the real problem is the rampant fanboyism in this culture, to which Gamespot editors are unfortunately not immune. Give it time, and judge it on its own merits. Have a measured and intelligent approach, for God's sake.
