YIKES. $35?! Are they joking?! Have you tried eBay if you can't find it directly off of Amazon? I have had better luck trusting reputable sellers on eBay as opposed to reputable sellers on Amazon. The only time I have trusted third parties on Amazon has been when they have offered Super Saver Shipping (in the US) because that means the order is fulfilled by Amazon. --- Edit: Like someone else said, eBay and PayPal offers some sort of protection in case you get screwed and there is the feedback system that helps to keep sellers and buyers honest. Doesn't always work, obviously, but it does offer some measure of reassurance.

In addition to more leisurely games and the games that don't necessarily use the touchscreen much, I played the HECK out of TWEWY and Elite Beat Agents and I don't know how many times I played the &%$#ing annoying arrow-shooting and cannonball-shooting minigames in Phantom Hourglass and the scratches that I have managed to accumulate are extremely minor and have - like someone else mentioned - wiped clean for the most part. Accordingly, I probably should get a screen protector, but I haven't found much need or incentive to do so. My DS Lite is over a year old and I have played it consistently since I got it. EDIT: TWO years, not one. My math skills abandoned me.

Hey killeracer, mind if I ask for my own driving/racing game rec here? :) Don't want to create a duplicate thread and get yelled at by the mods. It seems that there are a lot of duplicate threads roaming about the forum lately. :? -------------- I loved Project Gotham Racing II for the Xbox and I used to play Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2 and Initial D in the arcade. Sadly after that, I never picked up racing games again. Anyone got any recommendations based on the information I've given? I'd like to give racing games a try again, but don't want to leap before I look so to speak. Some things I have enjoyed with the games I've mentioned: - a lot of cars (gotta love the autos) - a variety of race tracks/scenarios and maybe even racing conditions - customizability of said autos - neat unlockables - great music and graphics (GT3 and PGR) - a not too steep learning curve I haven't done racing games in a while so not having a huge learning curve would be a bonus though if the game is awesome, I wouldn't mind putting more time into learning.

ATB. If you don't mind more of the hardcore RPG titles, I'd say look up some Atlus titles as Atlus tends to use turn-based combat rather than ATB or full realtime battle, which is what you are describing. Rondo of Swords is a good one as is Luminous Arc as is pretty much most of the Atlus titles depending on your taste for storyline and the like.

The Lost in Blue series was interesting as one of those 'escape the place' strategy/puzzleish stories and RPGs though if you already played the first one for the DS, the other ones can get repetitive. Luminous Arc is awesome and funny so I second that suggestion. The gameplay is solid and the graphics are great. I haven't played it as much as my siblings have, but what I've played so far has been fun. Atlus in and of itself as a game company has published a lot of rock solid RPGs, but a lot of them have been more hardcore RPGer-friendly. I haven't had as much time to sit down and really play as much as I would like to so my in-depth experience is limited, but my kid sibling sure busts the clock when it comes to those games. With that said, Rondo of Swords and Etrian Odyssey. Yikes. Heroes of Mana is a good RPG game, too, and I personally liked it better than the Final Fantasy games that came out for the DS, though I suppose the FF games would be a good way to get the feet of RPG newbies wet as some of the other less popular RPGs are more involved in terms of gameplay and/or combat prepping. Geometry Wars! Played it on Xbox before and loved it. Got it for the DS and loved it. Great for a few stolen moments and it incorporates a bit of strategy into the 'aim-and-shoot' gameplay. It doesn't really make too much use of the touchscreen (I never find use for it as I use the control pad) but it's a fun game on the go. ... Okay, fine. I'll admit that I played Chocobo Tales. And it's... *gags* cute. It didn't get much promotion where I'm at and I didn't catch much of the hype that went around (if at all). Reminded me a little bit of the chocobo game that came packaged with FFVIII for the PC which is why I finally picked up a used copy. Fun little game. Rune Factory is a great Harvest Moon like game that gets TEDIOUS!

Truth be told... I'm more a Cookie Monster fan than anything else, really. C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me! Cookie Monster knows his priorities and his Christmas episodes where he tries to contact Santa Claus is priceless for the laugh value. But the info on the Memory Stick - especially pricing and whatnot - are not FF-related at all. I just want to make sure people get what they think they're getting and don't get ripped off or end up with a bad Stick with corrupted data.

My advice? Check in with other users who use the adapter and see how it works for them. I have heard that the PSP doesn't always agree with certain sorts of Memory Sticks and certain types of Memory Stick setups, so I'd be safe than sorry and do some homework and check to make sure it will work before buying the adapter. The adapter in theory is really an awesome idea and it works well when - if - it works. Because then you can part out your PSP stuff, right? Games and save games on one card and music, videos, etc on the other card. But again, make sure it will work before you buy!

RE: Filesizes Ston3y, I think you're right. :? And nope, no offense taken whatsoever. I'm glad you could catch my slip-up. I forgot to mention that the numbers I used were taking games like FFVII and FFVIII into consideration. A lot of the other games aren't that huge for sure and so you wouldn't need to allocate so much space! Bottom line is: CHECK what games you want to download and how big they are and leave yourself some room for save slots and whatever else you might want to stick on the Stick. :) RE: Memory Stick Prices Would it be illegal to list an eBay listing here that shows the 20someodd bucks 16Gig Memory Stick so people know what I am talking about? If you go on eBay, search Memory Stick Pro Duo + 16 and it should pop up a lot of listings for the 16 Gig stick. You'll see that a lot of them are 25 bucks or under (USD currency). I'm tempted to go buy one and see what happens, but that's still 20something bucks down the drain if the Stick doesn't work. RE: More About Prices I've seen 16 Gigs being sold by reputable dealers for 50ish bucks and when there's a really good sale going, less than 50. 60ish is more typical 'decent' range. EDIT: ARGH! Can I format my text without using that stupid WYSIWYG editor? I tried using HTML but it wouldn't work.

16G cards are (comparitively) cheap for the maount of space, and trust me after you start downloading games you'll want the extra space, even if you don't plan to use your PSP for any other sorts of media. 8G at the very least, if you want "Dissidia" because that'll eat up a tremendous amount of space on it's own.

To add on to that, just FYI if this will help you decide: PSOne games downloaded from PSN tend to run in the 1.X Gigs of space - usually closer to 2 Gigs. Downloaded PSP games tend to run in the higher range. So my advice would be to give each game you want to download 2 Gigs of space at least. You need space for save files, too, after all and depending on how often you save and how many save slots you like to use when saving, you might even want to give yourself more room. 8 Gigs or 16 Gigs if you want to download a lot of games. For myself, because I own other Sony products that use the same Memory Sticks, I just ended up buying a lot of sticks that were on sale at various times of the year and I parted my music, video, graphics and downloaded games onto their separate sticks.
