I think what they've shown so far sounds wicked cool. I'm personally a fan of Sony's, but like all the consoles if they bring something good to the table. I enjoyed the Wii for a short while, and now it looks like I'll get the chance to enjoy WiiU for a lot longer than that! Very promising stuff here, can't wait for more!

also, if you're looking for my true feelings on Dragon's Dogma read my impressions of the demo, it really lays things out for you, then look for my full review of the game shortly.

Read your review, thought it was pretty spot on, better than gamespots anyway. In regards to people saying it was too hard (learning curve) I spent the first few hours doing the quests in town making sure I was ready before moving on. In fact, after the "big attack" (don't wanna spoil) in the second town, the game urges you to move on to Gran Soren via an escort quest, but I still had plenty of quest from the first two towns to complete. So I finished almost all of those before moving on to Gran Soren, leveling me out as a character before proceeding. That and this game is big on GATHERING. If you don't just rush from spot to spot, but actually take your time to collect the fallen apple, the mushrooms growing off a trree, the Greenwich herb growing over by the rocks (and these curatives are found everywhere) you'll have more than enough life sustaining collections to see you through ANY venture out, yes even at night in the thick of things. If fear the negative reviews/unhappy customers, rushed through the game and found them selfs in Gran Soren before even seeing the nite cycle, being only something like level 5, and finding themselves completely outta their depth.

That's what the side quests are for, to build up your character, gain dev points to buy new skills, and you have to gather stuff along the way. To anyone interested in this game, but passed, or gave up on it, I recommend taking these suggestions and trying again. I promise it will make all the difference ,and you'll enjoy Dragon's Dogma as much as myself and so many others.

Also, I plan to write a review for this as well soon, but you can check out my demo impressions which speak a lot to the testament of the game and it's combat system. Check it out at:

Exactly. At first when setting out on a quest that takes you to the other end of the map, looking at that walk seems too far. But once you set out, the steady flow of rich combat carries you throughout the entire walk there. I believe that's why Dragon's Dogma left the quick travel out of their game (Cause the combat was too good to skip past) and why Skyrim has quick travel-palooza (cause combat is so bad)

God of War is great, but they are two totally different games, there's no comparing the two, except to say that they both had amazing production values.

Yep, Absolutely better than Skyrim. The combat is handle so much better in every way in Dragon's Dogma. Skyrim can't even hold a candle to it. I'll admit Skyrim is bigger, but after about 50+ hours of wandering from place to place in skyrim with my quest log getting overrun with meaningless quest, and combat as dull as foam bat kid fights.......Get Dragon's Dogma, put Skyrim away and move on from the AAA name, and sink your teeth into a real game.

This game's greatness far outweighs it's few missteps. There is a fast travel system, it's called the "Ferrystone" and you can travel anywhere, then use it to return to Gran Soren. It's not as fast as Elder Scrolls, but have the fun is traveling and killing things along the way. Not just teleporting from spot to spot. Seriously awesome combat, with weight to the movements and attacks, varied quest, wildly fun boss encounters, new skills and abilities every few hours, make this game one of the best I've played in a LONG TIME. Better than Skyrim, by far!

Great acrticle, but more over, great point. There's no need to preorder anything this far in advance. Even on my MOST ANTICIPATED games, that I've been following in gaming new daily, for many years most times, I still only preorder no more than 1 month in advance. Gives me plenty of time to be sure I want to make this purchase. I can't tell you how many times I go to buy a game at GameStop and they pressure me to preorder something, anything. When I tell them naw, I'll preorder closer to release they're all like, "Ok, just make sure you do, don't wanna miss out on the bonuses blah blah blah."

I think the bottom line comes down to this. For a full fledged Disc-Based game at \$60.00 the game is too short and does not include enough content to warrant a buy. It's a definite rent, as playing through everything and searching everywhere as a "completionist" type play through, the game will only take around 10-15 hours max! That is the big down side. The argument can be made that there's 4 characters each with their own play through, but the slight story variations aren't enough to make multiple playthroughs as diff characters worth while. May be fun to tinker around with a 2nd or 3rd character type, but not an entire playthrough. If the game were released on PSN/XBLA for \$9.99 it would have received better scores and been WELL worth the money. I could even be persuaded to spend \$19.99 on it. Was a fun game. But at \$60.00 and disc-based....no way it's worth the purchase. Seems like it was either rushed out the developmental doors, short the other half of the game.....or more likely, the money grubbing companies wanted to release \$7.99 dungeon packs once or twice a month for the next few months to make MORE MONEY, and that's where the other half the game went to. ie: other 10-15 hours of game play (making the would be total hour game play a more respectable 20-30hrs)
