I own a PS3 and an Xbox 360 at the moment, and the Xbox 360 runs smoother.
And the fact that Microsoft dedicate more servers to run data without using the individual console, it will run smoother than a PS3.
I am definitely not saying for everyone.
And I have done my research have you?

I prefer the Xbox over its exclusives. Other than that I stick to my PC.
