I was thinking about some sort of DLC that lets us play as our old squadmates when we meet up with them in single player and see what they were dealing with when Shepard was trying to help out...

Play as Jack at Grissom Academy, Grunt during the Rachni mission, Jacob just before Shepard arrives for that mission, Samara at the monastery, Wrex on Tuchanka, Ashley or Kaiden trying to protect the Council during the Cerberus attack, Miranda at Sanctuary...

Not sure what you could do as Mordin, Thane, Kasumi, Zaeed and Legion...

Of course, a big problem with this idea is that some (possibly all) of these characters can be dead which would make it a useless DLC for some players...

That could be an interesting idea, but with the exception of the multiplayer, I cant imagine playing as the squadmates.

But Shepard's mindset was to destroy the Reapers throughout the entire series.

I am wondering what kind of DLC we could possibly see in the near future.

Would they be able to make ME4 happen?

Why would they do that, when we can experience it. It could be turned into a similar situation like the Shadow Broker DLC from ME2.
