I just purchased FFXI off of Steam today and after I finished downloading and instaling the game I went on to set up my Online Play account and for some reason it would not accept my debit card.

It IS a Mastercard from Citibank. I read about people having difficulties and I haven't been able to come across any viable solutions. I do not have a credit card, so my Citibank card is the only thing I got to work with.

Can anyone help me out here?

I'm not sure why it wouldn't accept a Debit card. What error is it giving you?

Sounds like a Damaged disc, try and clean it if you can (If it has scratches) If not return it saying its faulty. Not much else you can do.

The problem is going from $50 to $80 for a preorder. This happened with Bioshock 2, Bad Company 2, and Borderlands as well.

Indeed it did, Borderlands still stands at about 80USD too. But neither way, Time to go hop in my teleporter and go to England and buy it for 52 Dollars.
