GTA IV.
I didn't game too much this year, but I definately played this game longer than any other.
Gears 2? Brawl?
What happened? :|
Not American, but I voted in the last Canadian federal about a month ago.
I'm very happy about Obama winning, though, as most of us are up here.
This game is far from perfect. The gunplay is rubbish, VATS is the only way to play this game efficiently when not using explosives and the only way to use VATS is to run or sneak up close to your enemies and blow their heads off.

Well, it is an RPG. It makes sense that there wouldn't be much emphasis on run-and-gun gameplay. But are you saying you have to shoot enemies point-blank in order for VATS to be efficient?

The game came out in North America today. Anybody already have it? First impressions?
I'm going to get my copy as soon as I get my new 360 disc drive. :)
GUFU might be invite-only for a good reason, but I think it would be better for the union's image to keep the forum public. GUFU isn't just about gathering a bunch of open-minded gamers so they can have closed discussions on a private board; it's also about encouraging the same kind of thinking amongst all gamers. A private board, IMO, would make it seem as if we prefer to be closed off from the general gaming public, and perhaps make us seem like an elitist group (which some notable critics of ours have claimed us to be), and in turn decrease the likelihood of obtaining new members.
If we can keep discussions here legit (which for the most part we do), then I see no reason for the forum to be private. I don't think there are that many determined people out there who comb through every thread on this board just to see if they can find anything to use against us.
I'll get it if it's any improvement on the first. Unfortunately, the one-button combat that irked me in the first game seems to have grown into a slightly more complex system of one-button combat. :|
I hope that the other styles of combat besides straight-up melee have more use in Fable II, since I couldn't imagine myself going through the first game using only magic or archery. It kind of made for an overall shallow experience for an RPG.
