Saw "Xbox One Gets 3 More Backwards-Compatible Rockstar Games"

Got pumped for MP3 because, you know, 3 BC Rockstar games announced and.... odds.

Completely let down that the 3 BC games are not MP3.

@Barighm: If that's true, then it's true. But your key clause in there is , "Less than 5% of console purchasers do so for BC." I'm not saying that. Buying a console for STRICTLY BC is silly and yeah, I can see that only being 5%. But who buys a current gen console only for BC? I'm not even sure why you'd do that. When the PS3 Slim came out, and I needed to get a new PS3 because the USB's on my 60GB crapped out, I made sure to buy the 80GB fat version so I had the ability to play BC. I wasn't interested in the slim for that very reason.

@kyelo: Yes, they can. But not every game. That's the point I was trying to make. I glossed over your film and PC comparisons because my audio argument applies to both. I may not be able to play BD's or DVD's on my smart TV but any show or movie that I've ripped and moved to my NAS can be streamed to it. And if I don't have it, chances are that I can purchase the movie digitally. PC games can be played via digital or, if I really need to, I can move it to a USB to install it. It isn't like that for current console games. There's only a selection of BC games and that's it.

Look, the whole point I was trying to make is that it's horseshit that people spend a buttload of money on previous gen games (which we happen to still like playing) and now those games aren't good for anything. Some never get old and people still like playing them. See: the re-release of the Nintendo console and it being sold out every which way. People like older games and we'd like to continue playing them. I love new games too, I just don't want my old ones to be gathering dust.

@kyelo: Not a good comparison at all. No, my MP3 player doesn't play discs or cassettes. But it can still play songs that came out 40 years ago when records, cassettes, and CD's were the delivery system. It's not about the physical format, it's about the media itself.

If I want to listen to some Led Zep, just because records, cassettes, cds, etc are done; I can still listen to it via MP3. And I don't have to pay for it because I can take my old CD's and rip them to MP3's to use on my player. Or I can download them for a price. You can't do that with games. If I want to play something like, oh, the Viewtiful Joe games, I can't unless I have a PS2 or a fat PS3. There are no other options. I can't rip the game and move it to a digital only title. And I can't download it as a BC game because it's not available. Sure there's PS Now and Xbox 360 BC but not every game is available for that. And I don't like having to pay for games I already own but at least that's an option if I really want to play it.

As far as people wanting BC being in the minority, point me to some evidence of that. It may be more expensive business-wise but I guarantee there's a market for it.

Just... Ugh... leave the classics alone. Also, I'm aware Oceans started off with the Rat Pack but I consider the new version a classic since that's my era.

If Big Trouble in Little China gets gender swapped, I'm done with everything. This plopping women into men roles for already made movies is getting stupid.

@louixiii: Why don't you just save the snarkiness until you play it. You pre-ordered it so clearly you were gunning for the game. Don't be an idiot and let a review sway you. Play the game. If it doesn't live up to your expectations, then blast it.

@louixiii: I'm not exactly sure what they switched up. The game looks the same to me.

@masterkushh: And here you are... commenting on the game that has always bored you . And commenting on my comment of the game that has always bored you. If the game looks boring to you, then why are you even here? And why are you commenting on my comment?
