This is an awesome list. One of the truly great Gamespot articles, & one I certainly can't puke on like some of those that come out of this site that shall go unnamed. I have to add one though: Quake. Rocket Launcher. Rare you say? A treat, you ask? Well, perhaps you've for gotten how much of a domination game Quake is. When you're not on top, you rarely see the light of day, much less a real weapon.

The funny thing about The Secret of Monkey Island is that he pretty much got the plot as deep as it goes, yet the humor fleshes it out to about ten or twenty hours (depending on your puzzle skills) regardless! XD

I'm ashamed to say that I never actually played: -The Curse of Monkey Island (I finally got The Secret of Monkey Island though!) -Starcraft (or Warcraft - I've actually seen Warcraft 1 though, but I was always playing Westwood's RTS's) -Final Fantasy and/or Metal Gear Solid series (I've gotten halfway through a few of each series' games but been repulsed by the seeming mediocrity, then never gone back and finished to see if it gets better) -Diablo 1/2 (I played Guild Wars, that count?) -World of Warcraft (I played Ultima Online and have despised this MMO formula since) The worst part is that I'm a critic of some of those games, yet I don't have much hands on experience. (though the games I'm a critic of aren't very hands on even when you're playing... still)

Games I was forced to play so I could reject them as stupid and/or mediocre and/or average: 1)-insert Madden here- Seriously now, who can honestly enjoy these games when things like Techmo Super Bowl are actually fun? 2)Halo 2 First one was good - not great though 3)Donkey Kong 64 or any N64 platformer that wasn't the king, er, that is to say, Mario 4)Battlefield Vietnam Though I liked the music factor, a totally hype driven purchase I'm embarrassed to have gotten on release day 5)Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 I thought they had to be good... I mean '99 was godlike... I was wrong... Honorable Mention: -Insert Pokemon after Blue here- (fortunately the list is quite small for me)
