I started on Atari 2600 in the early 80's. I remember liking Asteroids Defender, Pong and Pac man a lot. Pong had this Dial controller and the regular controller was a joystick with this cheap rubber stick cover that kept coming off., good times. but yeah, Ps2/xbox1/gamecube was when gaming went from nerdy to "cool" and 360 turned gaming into the Ubermonster it is now.

This is what happens when you try to market gaming consoles to non gamers. ie "We don't like using a controler --> Kenect "We don't like games ---> netflix.
Slowly phasing out the gaming part of the gaming console.

Except, you know. . they're not. They're just adding more features. Oh, I'm sorry. They add features to PCs all the time. . obviously we're putting gaming there on the back burner in spite of Battlefield 3, Starcraft, Diablo, and the hundreds of MMOs that are birthed, live, and die on the net. Do you remember when MTV had music videos on it? Look at MTV now after the hipsters got a hold of it. It's all reality shows and no music. Look at wrestling, it's a soap opera now! and thats exactly what they're doing to console gaming, your gonna end up with a casual hipster media console that won't even play games.
And a PC is not a gaming console it's a media center.people who try to turn pc's into consoles are just as wrong as people who try to turn gaming consoles into media centers.
And what about the PS3? I don't doubt many people bought it solely as a Blu-ray player/media hub. Sony did tout those features for quite some time.

I bought my Ps3 before i knew about the bad AA with multi console game ports. The blu ray is cool because they don't scratch and you don't have to change disks. I have had my 80 gig since launch and have yet to buy a blu ray movie I'm getting my 360 as soon as MS gets the 250 gig back in stock but i currently use my Ps3 for gaming 100% of the time. any media is done on my laptop that is connected to my tv. Bad graphics on multi platform is not a valid arguement against xbox anymore. Since I can play Any multi plat without paying 60$. I said the PS3's ports have bad AA. I didn't even mention the 360's graphics...
