@c_rake @GlenPh If that's the case, then why is this 'other take' presented in exactly the same manner as the main review? There's a summary of pros and cons and an out-of-10 score. It's published to the main page of the website with the score given at front and centre in exactly the same way. By comparison your average user review is never given that kind of prominence. With that considered, I'd suggest that the review actually should be held to the same standard as any other 'official' review on the site.
A fanboy scorned may have been a more appropriate title. It seems Tom has focused on what Infinite isn't, in comparison the first two games, rather than what it is. It all smacks a little bit of a tantrum in the face of receiving something different and unexpected.
While it's interesting to read a different take and read the views of someone who evidently didn't enjoy the game, to score it as a 4/10 is quite incredible when almost all other professional games reviewers have scored this game as a 9/10 or more - just take a look at Metacritic.
