Young kids play Fortnite & PUBG's clone-like game (i dont remember the name).

The reason they play these games is because they are free to play.

@texasgoldrush: All true, but still Starcraft is the more famous game than AoE II (because of Korea).

From the games you mentioned obviously Counterstrike and ESPECIALLY its chinese clone CrossFire are the most successful (5th top grossing online game of all time at 7 billion dollars, 4th is WoW, 2016 stats).

@btotheotothejtothef: I believe FromSoft wanted to make a sci-fi game at some point as well (return back to their roots).

For anyone that doesnt know, EA's Andrew Wilson was the first developer who introduced microtransactions in a game, and specifically in FIFA 09.

He was also the first developer who introduced microtransactions in an AAA game, notably in Dead Space 3.

If you dont know, FIFA microtransactions are some of the worst, since its not just cosmetic items but the player can literally trade his way at the top, provided that he has enough money.

So at this point we should be suspect of his motives.

Probably the best way we can deal with lootboxes is to use the Japan/China system that forces the developers to expose the lootbox rates that are usually hidden/secret.

Remember that Japan & China have a decade of experience ahead of the Western world concerning lootboxes and correctly identified the root of the problem in the freemium, mobile games. To that end, they have successfully banned some of the worst practices (example compu/kompu gacha).

@jodomar: Hamill was with a lot of known, experienced actors (like Jhon Rhys Davies, Malcom Dowell) back in the Wing Commander series, so it would make sense that Rhoberts would approach him again. After all what better than to work among friends you have worked together in the past?

That said since Hamill seems to be willing, they should jump at the opportunity.

@TheDarkNut: While Hamill isnt a Hollywood megastar, as far as i know he is a down to earth guy, a rarity in Holywood. Back in the day he played the role of the Trickster, a Joker like villain in the Flash show (1990-1991).

In the new Flash show (2014-now in its 3rd season) they asked him to play the Trickster again, and while he had every right to refuse (not the first time big Holywood names dont return to franchises they have played), he did return, made a good performance (good professional) and even praised the series!

As farvas i know he has done the same for every franchise he has played.

You can even see his honesty (that he doesnt know the franchise) & desire to challenge himself as an actor in a new franchise (even if Vesemir has similar qualities with Luke). Honestly many would rest in their laurels, thwy would take it slow when they won a Holywood star in the boulevard, but he seems to be ready for another acting gig.

As for the Witcher franchise the smart thing to do is to approach him ASAP (since he seems willing). Hamill would give the already established game, but unknown TV series both the acting gravitas & the marketing push from the mainstream media.

@JJMikhail: Yes it is a sad truth that many sites nowadays produce highly controversial opinion articles for generating clicks.

I rely on many sites to obtain my gaming information and game reviews, because no site/game journalist is ever infallible or no site/game journalist is truly unbiased.

@xdude85: Or a closer examination of opinionated pieces and the journalists that make these pieces that try to equate a clearly fictional setting (Far Cry 5) with real-life politics.

Despite the absurdness and implausibility of Far Cry 5, there are some minor similarities.

But can you really requate them? Of course Not. One is an entirely fictional setting.

And that is where Gamespot's opinion piece fails to deliver.

@JJMikhail: Dont forget this is an opinion piece and not a real review. Not once did it reference gameplay mechanics, so you wont find what you are looking here.

That said Ubisoft doesnt easily shake up the formula. My recommendation to you is to wait for reviews and watch gameplay videos.

Does the setting (USA landscape) intrigue you?
