I think a very compact 5 or 10 gig harddrive that attaches to one of the USB-ports at the back would hit just the right spot. Something that looks discrete and blends in with the Wii's design seamlessly. 10 gigs would guarantee enough storage for the entire lifecycle of Wii.
I'm typing with a keyboard on the Wii right now. Works like a charm, except some special characters still have to be accessed through the virtual keyboard itself.
- DS Demo channel, which would pretty much be like having a demo station in your own home. - Virtual Console channel. Instead of having all your games as channels they move to this one big channel where you can organize them. Saves a lot of space on the Wii menu. - More colours to choose from when creating Miis, and maybe a wider variety of hair$tyles. - Wallpapers for your Wii menu.
I guess those would be pretty good updates. Especially the first two.
