The real question shouldn't be whether or not folks play their DS on the can, but whether or not they play online with it. Nothin' like getting some MPH pwnage while dropping a deuce.

For one, the game has no plot. Second, you do kinda use both hands, since most weapons call for the character to hold each weapon with both hands. Other than that there's no reason for it. But had they gone the Golden Eye DS route I think the game would have sucked even more than it already does.

Hmm...I have a PS2, but I'm not aware of a port for a mem stick.

When I browse PS2 games on GameFAQs, I often see a listing for game saves. As a newbie, I'm wondering how you transfer downloaded game saves from your computer to your PS2 (and it's mem card, of course).

Thanks

The learning curve, with respect to familiarizing yourself with the battle controls and deck creation, is fairly straight-forward. However, you'll have to follow the Genroh FAQ step-by-step for the story mode (J-Galaxy) if you want to unlock all of the various koma/characters/etc.

Additionally, the game's presentation is pretty amazing, so becoming familiar with all of the options and whatnot will take some time. It's fun, though, and I enjoyed learning about the game as much as I did playing it. And though there is no English option, a few of the menu options are in English or have pictures that make navigation somewhat intuitive.

In the end, though, be prepared to dedicate yourself to some extent. It's not a shallow game, with respect to its many options. I've warned others that though it is, in fact, one of the very best games available for the DS worldwide, if you're not willing to put in the effort to familiarize yourself with the many mangas, komas and menu options, the game could easily end up collecting dust on your shelf.

I'm 35, and my wife & I will be playing D/P (pre-ordered earlier last month). My boys each have Emerald and Mystery Dungeon for the their GBAs, and I used to play the card game with them. But this will be the first Pokemon RPG that I play myself. I'm attracted to the game because, unlike most DS games, D/P promises to offer a ton of replay; I hope to be playing it for a good, long while. Plus the online trading and battles should be a lot of fun as well.

I had to coax my wife into playing it with me -- she had no interest in it -- but I think it will be fun to do together. We can trade Pokemon, battle, help each other should we get stuck with something, etc.
