Exactly. I have no interest in seeing fictional computer-generated characters in bikinis, but I don't really get how this has got anything to do with maturity. By that definition, what turns men on is immature...
If it were my game, I wouldn't include bikini-clad women, I think it detracts from the realism of the content, not because of "immaturity".
Nintendo will not be able to compete with Sony and Microsoft this time round. They've taken a wrong turn with the Wii U and the future doesn't look particularly bright for them.
I agree on some points, but just because someone may not agree it doesn't mean they're a fanboy. I believe the PS4 will have the better games in the long run due to their exclusives, but you're certainly right about dedicated servers.
On the positive side, I do think the core of games is improving in some ways. I have played some exceptionally involving and entertaining games over the past couple of years.
To some extent, but not entirely. Introducing anti-consumer policies is more about the timing (comparative to competition) than about the policy itself. If Sony had taken the same approach as MS, those policies would still be in existence now.
DLC / micro-transactions are not advantageous for the consumer, but they have become more prominent over the past 2 - 3 years.
Consumer apathy is a disease in the gaming industry. The "I can't do anything about it, so i may as well buy it anyway" attitude causes further cost increases and a lower quality of product overall (because developers can get away with doing less, whilst receiving more).
