then theres third partys boneheaded decisions to make there games only on the hd twins which are great systems but it cost lots of money to make them. Silent Hill is a great example of what i mean.

Wait, Silent Hill, you mean that franchise whose best game this generation was on the Wii?
Or, you know, that as a whole, the Wii has more higher rated exclusives than any other console? :P Not to mention there is a ton of unique games on the system because of the low development costs
I actually did an objective analysis of this point in a blog entry a while back, whose conclusion was basically what you allude to: the Wii's direction basically traded high-rated multiplatform games for high-rated exclusive games (i.e., the Gamecube had a lot of high-rated multiplatform games, but few high-rated exclusive games, while the Wii has a lot of high-rated exclusive games, but few high-rated multiplatform games).
I much prefer the Wii's setup, myself. If I wanted the games you can play on other consoles, I'd go play those games on those consoles. :P
