I wonder, is this EA's idea and the influences coming from the Bioware/EA merger, or is it LucasArts idea?

No, this was not EA's idea. Bioware and LucasArts started this before EA bought them. The (at the time publically unspecified) MMO was the impetus behind the merger.

Mass Effect and the KOTOR series. I've played KOTOR three times, KOTOR 2 three times, and Mass Effect three times. I intend to play KOTOR 2 one more time after I get to rank 25 in Bad Company.

Bioware games = pure gold.

Edit: Yes, I know that Bioware did not make KOTOR 2 and that it was made by Obsidian. But Obsidian did such an excellent job of creating a Bioware-esque story and emulating the original's formula that I consider it both an Obsidian and a Bioware game.

I doubt it, but Age of Conan did this. So you never know.

You know what? I am actually excited about this. I LOOOVE KOTOR/KOTOR 2 and I am usually not a huge fan of MMO's. But right before Star Wars: Galaxies turned to crap, I was really fascinated about the game. I was going to buy it but unfortunatly missed that boat.

Hopefully the KOTOR MMO will be the redeeming Star Wars MMO that Galaxies fans have been dying for and perhaps Star Wars fans in general. I'm pretty psyched.

What would it be?

Personally, I would want to be a Jedi in the Old Republic universe of Star Wars. Preferably before or during the events of KOTOR or after the events of KOTOR 2. If you played KOTOR 2 you would understand why being a Jedi would suck in those times.

So how about you?

This game didn't get terrible reviews persay, but I don't think it got the respect it deserves. The game would be Ultimate Spiderman.

I'm not a huge fan of Spiderman and especially Spiderman video games but I found Ultimate Spiderman to have a great artistic style and action packed gameplay. Also, you get to play as Venom! You can eat innocent people, including children! :o How awesome is that? Pretty damn awesome.
