Not surprising really, the WiiU uses a less interesting gimmick than the Wii. Why didn't they come out with a next gen Wii, seems like it would have been more interesting than simply keying off of the tablet craze...from my perspective anyhow. But apparently Nintnedo saw how fast the motion control craze came and went so they needed to find a new gimmick to sell their next system....snf find it they did.
Hardware gimmicks do not add further immersion for me, in fact they more often lessen the immersion factor in my experiences. The Wii motion controls , the WiiU controller, Playstation Move, X-box Kinect...tried 'em all and none of them really did anything for me. Then again I can't stand thumbsticks on console controllers either and the general inability to customize controller layouts on console games (WHYYYYYYY?!)
Full on PC gamer here (no one should be surprised hehe) and the most gimmicky I go as far as control hardware is a Microsoft Optical Trackball and a Merc Stealth keyboard. And by gimmicky I mean functionability because I have used those two devices to game with for years and years and have yet to feel a need to change. I guess I'm a stick in the mud hehe.
The only thing that could be a step up for me hardware-wise would be VR stuff like the Rift Oculus.
4-5 hours of gamplay at what cost? $15? Spend a quarter of the cost of the game on 4-5 hours of gameplay? No thanks...and this is why I never bother with DLC.
Wellp...I see no reason to preorder now. First Dead Space game I will not preorder as this will fall under my "Don't preorder shit and wait for it to go on sale" policy.
