This review is guilty of an imbalanced posturing of the objective and standardized qualities of video games that have come to be accepted as common critique vernacular (narrative structure, gameplay mechanics, environmental design) as GTA V's positive qualities against the game's degree of compatibility with the reviewer's own personal and cultural sensibilities as the negative aspects of the game. In other words-you cannot subtract qualitative judgements from quantitative standards and expect to get an accurate review. That, at least, is what I am upset about.

looks like VR has risen from the dead in the form of AR. the next steps will be a more convincing HUD and then haptic feedback like they said in the video.

'But just because it's legal to produce borderline offensive games doesn't mean that the industry should churn out so many that glamorize violence.'

It DOES mean that. Who are you, who are we, to decide the extent of an individual's or a business entity's creative liberties? This question you posit is dangerously statist. These businesses have a right to pursue profit. Whether you like or dislike the formulaic approach of these violent games is irrelevant. We do not need another mandate from the ESRB. The law described at the beginning of this article already effectively exists! This is a witch hunt meant to calm the shivering masses, who will accept ANYTHING (be it guns, video games, the mental health institution, family values) as long as they do not have to accept the truth. And this truth is that violence is an intrinsic part of our nature, of life itself, so fundamental that we can do nothing to prevent its occurrence A churning engine of pitiless cogs, and we the opulent brutes who find ourselves navigating its gleaming teeth.

Environment comparisons were especially garbage. They didn't even make an effort to seek out comparable settings. For example- the beach in Forge World and the beach from Last Resort... wtf Dumb Gamespot is dumb.
