Oh my god! Limited backwards-compatibility? Oh my God! Oh my! Oh so freaking what? Forgive my bluntness but the whole issue of the limited backward-compatibility of the PS3 seems to me like nothing more then a poor excuse for people to badmouth Sony! So what if PS3 won't be able to play all your favorite PS2-games? You still have your PS2, right? Or will they suddenly vanish from you room when the PS3 arrives? When the PS2 was released I was so excited about that the fact that it would be able to play all my favorite PS1 games and I was really looking forward to playing Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter, Ape Escape and all the other greats...but I never did! Instead I got caught up by games such as Jak & Daxter, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and Tekken Tag Tournament. I never got around to playing a PS1 game on my PS2 ...and whenever I fancied hunting a few monkies in Ape Escape I would simply turn on my PS1, conviniently located on the shelf below my PS2, and the same thing will happen when I get my PS3. To me, lameting limited backwards-compatibility just doesn't make sense because who would want to buy a new console to play old games? You buy a new console to play new games and so you should! Backwards-compatibility is a nice and nifty little feature but is is just that, a nice and nifty little feature! Had Sony decided to drop the PSP-connectivity or the Blu-ray I would have been well pissed off because I am more excited about that then backward-compatibility...because my PS2 isen't going anywhere.
