i actually been wanting this setting in an AC game since after the AC2, but then when they continued the Ezio storyline i didnt care that much and was fine with their choice, but i am now happy that i got my wish for Assassin's Creed: Pirate Edition.

@outlawst Gaming practically started on PC with the program DOSbox, and upgrading your PC specs every few years is much less expensive than buying a 350$ console every 4 years. With programs like steam dominating the gaming market i see PC gaming staying around for a very long time, maybe even outlasting console gaming.
