Yeah, the comment from Sony was not that smart. Even so, it wasn't all that.
But MS can't talk, they basically paid tons to EA to have their biggest selling franchise for FREE on the X1.
That's basically PAYING to win the "launch war"...of course that you need to be a freaking moron to fall for that, but 90% of gamers are addicts and companies prey on those.
I love developer stupidity. Some times i think they are just clueless, or think gamers are morons that will agree with everything they say. Sad thing is, half of gamers are morons.
F2P is not a better way to monetize for gamers, it's a better way to monetize for NON-GAMERS. People that don't play all that often and don't really care, THOSE are the kind of people that love f2p because, well, they don't pay unless they want to.
Because this industry is greedy as hell, developers and publishers only look at their earnings and not what they are doing in the process, so, they don't care if actual gamers (aka, people that play on a daily basis and care for the industry) don't like it.
"Splinter Cell: Blacklist makes it fun to fly solo, but it's when you join others that the stealth action really heats up."
This sums up the problem of modern gaming, multiplayer and co-op in every crap under the sun and reviewers and alike are not making it any favor by saying crap like this.
Quality is a thing of the past, it was replaced with "having fun", and i say this will all negative connotation you can think of, because fun is inherent to the video game thing.
