@Darkangel2154: Even if they had it your graphics card couldn't do it.

Like Tomfool23 said. This card is totally overkill and a waste of money if you are doing 1080 gaming. You can max out 1080 for a lot lower price point. This is for the 1440, 4K and VR folks.

I don't see why you would be upset. It's just like on the PC side newer videocards and faster processors are always coming out. Doesn't mean you need to upgrade every single time an upgrade comes out. You can still play games and have good experiences just at different graphical levels.

Makes perfect sense to me. Now that Playstation is on an x86 architecture there is no reason for them to not upgrade the system every few years.

As long as everything stays compatible like it does on PC I see this as a positive.

I'm hoping for the best, but honestly not excited about the choices they are making.

@Rusteater:

At this point I call Rift a 2nd tier experience since it doesn't have spatial awareness or motion controls yet. Vive and PSVR are the only full VR options.

@boonergames:

THX standard is only 40 degrees so 100 is more than enough to be immersive and that's what Oculus and Vive are using too.

@robnk:

With Oculus it is still a half baked system. It will still need a camera (PSVR) or cubes (Vive) which will add to the cost and it doesn't have motion controls available like the Vive or PSVR which will add even more. So in reality Oculus if and when it has those options like Vive or PSVR will end up about the same price as the Vive $799.

Edit: PSVR does come with earbuds and I don't think the Oculus comes with a $100 set so you should remove that from your total.

That would make sense except I don't think most people have the newest phones to make it work. The other problem is that phones still stink for games.
