[QUOTE="KenTa_613"]Damn, cows were owned on so many different levels. :lol:impatientfire
 Check out this n00b. Next time read what's in  the thread, it's actually the Lemmings that have been owned. Sony made huge quarterly profitsand Lemmings were saying that Sony would die

That's not that huge of a profit compared to what Sony used to have in the early 90  but still 1,4 + Billion in a quarter that they expected to lose 90 million is not bad

Yeah, it's kind of hard to have a 100+ million fanbase when Sony has sold 85 million of its 100 million shipped PS2s, plus not ALL of those consoles will be originally bought, many will be replacements (or the new Slim).WolfensteinAR

last time i checked 93  million units actually have been sold

$600 million in profits is great and all, but Microsoft had $11 billion in revenues this past quarter, so whatever.WolfensteinAR

So  Sony has a revenue of  20 Billion  this past quarter.

~Ten months after a major management reshuffle that saw Howard Stringer appointed chairman and chief executive officer (CEO), the company reported sales and operating revenue of ¥2.4 trillion ($20 billion as of the last day of the period being reported) ~

And gamespot has it wrong Sony made a net income of 1,4+ billion

http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/IR/financial/fr/05q3_sony.pdf

Not bad for a quarter where Sony expected to lose 90 million

[QUOTE="kawakev"][QUOTE="MC_Killa86"][QUOTE="Ravenlore_basic"][QUOTE="MC_Killa86"]

Yet another attempt at sony trying to trump up the PS3. Their reasoning seems to be that 7>4, regardless that it's impractical to have 7 controllers.

MC_Killa86

AgAin it depends if they are able to use 2 TVs to have an 4 per TV! It has 2 HDMI outputs.

Yes of course, we all own 2 HDTV's. Once again, Sony's just trying to hype these highly impractical features of the PS3.

Care to explain why it's impractical? I fail to see how more space for wireless tech is "impractical", AH! I got it, It must be lemming syndrome where 4.7>25!!(single layer discs.) and 3>8 (cores) and that the eDRAM bandwidth should be included in comparison with a device that doesn't have eDRAM. It looks like god doesn't like all creatures equally now does he...

Did I ever claim that 4.7>25? No. Did I ever say 3>8 cores (something you can't really compare seeing how different the Cell and 360's CPUs are)? No. It's impractical in that Sony hypes these amazing things PS3 can do when the normal consumer won't have the capabilities of experiencing them, like the abilitiy to have 2 1080P TVs connected by HDMI. How may people are honestly going to be able to afford that? No one, that's who.

There is nothing impractical about  ps3  Bluetooth

Bluetooth automatically supports 8 channels  it doesn’t cost extra , Bluetooth is also partially Sony’s IP

Bluetooth  also has  a lot of devices that support it

Bluetooth  is also not limited  for ps3 controllers  so you can hook up your other Bluetooth device on ps3  if you have them

like the abilitiy to have 2 1080P TVs connected by HDMI. How may people are honestly going to be able to afford that? No one, that's who.

Don't know about 1080p hd tv's but i certianly can afford  2 hd tv's   …. hell most people  within 2 years  will be able to afford 2 hd tv's  if they want  to .

Well I'm not getting 360 or PS3 but I want HD-DVD to win this fight because BD are supposed to have excess DRM which is why Ms wouldn't support them and which is why Sony are all for them (recent rootkit CD's were just the start of there DRM plans).  DRM is bad for consumers and regardless of the support for BD from movie companies etc..., consumers should choose HD-DVD if this DRM crap is real. brim4brim

Both formats have them

(I removed the needlessly huge post)

[QUOTE="skektek"]
Don't be such a tool.
I stated "4x max". You arguing anything lower would just be proving my point.

As far as you usually being right:

Here is the discussion, which explains everything, again

TRega123
First of all, I am not a fanboy. I am simply stating the facts, and what I see to be the outcome of the next generation of videogames.

Secondly, how did you prove anything? I believe that if Xbox 360 wins the american market as many besides myself have predicted, it will also win every other market. Simply because developers want to develop their game to the largest audience. The Japanese game market is small in comparison to the American market, which is why many japanese developers put the American market first above their own. The Japanese may be reluctant to buy a 360 at first, but as it's getting more games, things will change.

By the way, I also predicted in another post which you may or may not have seen that the PS3 will launch in Japan in spring (US winter) for 69,000 - 79,000 yen with a weak lineup and sit on shelves alongside 360's and PSX's. Of course some people will buy them, but most will wait until either has games before they spend money for a system.

[QUOTE="Cgi-Chris"]Who cares? We will still have it, it will benefit the games, because they can work around stuff to make it perform well for the system, even if it is going to be faster later in life, it doesn't matter, The thing is we will have it, and you lemmings wont. lol lemmings just give up, you can't win. TRega123
It will not benefit the games. No games will use it because of horrible seek times.

Take a look at blu ray drives  seek time and access time  and then at dvd drives  seek time and  access time.....

[QUOTE="evilBush465"]i mean come on Sony has Blu-Ray, which all the movies studios r backing but for games its starting at 50 GB! Thats amazing for a disc, but MS coulda atleast made an effort towards there fanbase(and Devoplers) to put in a High Capcity Disc(40gb+) i mean, think about it in the end, it is a game system! Games Need More SPace, what they shoulda done is instead of worring about crappy movies, worry about the game space, they should put in an HVD drive atleast to be ready for the future, i mean, DVD is reaching an end for space when programing games, but atleast putting a HVD drive in it would be giving there fanbase and devoplers able to fight the futureTRega123
Games also need high seek times, something the CLV blu ray drive in the PS3 will not have. I'm starting to doubt that there will ever be a PS3 game that works well on blu ray.

is this a joke ?
