Patapon 2 is my favorite so far, but I'm only about an hour into Patapon 3. The story isn't really central to the experience, so you won't be missing much by skipping 1 or 2. I'd start with 2 and then go on to 3.

Hey everyone! Long time no see. Just wanted to give you a quick heads up on a great place to get games. I'm not sure how many stores Microcenter has around the U.S. There's one here in Cleveland, OH. They started selling video games a while ago but they never really put much effort into it and really don't know how much some games should be going for. The last time I went in there I got a bunch of DS games for less than $6 each. These are new, unopened, good games. I went there yesterday and they had 15 copies of Elite Beat Agents, one of my favorite DS games, for $2.61 each. It's insane. Their selection isn't great, but every time I go in there I find one random game really cheap that's worth picking up.

I recall hearing something about this kind of thing on a podcast. Don't remember if it was the HotSpot, Giant Bombcast, something from 1UP, etc. But I think the developer mentioned that they'll sometimes thank other developers whose games or ideas simply inspired certain elements of their design. For example, Bayonetta devs may thank God of War devs for introducing or refining mechanics that help make their game better, or vice versa. It's a courtesy.

Which PSP model do you have? My 2000 used to have the same problem. It would think I hit the Home button to exit the game when I didn't actually hit it. I *think* it's an inherent issue with the UMD drive. I wish I could offer some help, but my solution was to use Best Buy's replacement policy to upgrade to a 3000.

I didn't own a PSP until early this year, but a lot of my favourites were earlier titles - namely, Jeanne D'Arc, which is a fantastic SRPG and in many ways more enjoyable than a Final Fantasy Tactics title. Wipeout Pure is also awesome.DJ_Lae

I actually just finished Jeanne d'Arc for the first time. It was my first SRPG, and I LOVED it. I tried FF Tactics afterwards and couldn't really get into it. I've been looking for good SRPGs since then. I tried Disgaea, Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, and an old Fire Emblem game on the GBA. There's nothing I found that I enjoyed as much as Jeanne d'Arc.

I really enjoy my PSP Go, but I acknowledge that the 3000 is the more versatile option. I like the screen and buttons on the Go, and the flip-up screen makes it a more portable iPod alternative for me so that I don't have to carry so many devices around with me. Not that this applies to most people, but the PSP Go is also much better for before-sleep playing, as it doesn't have the noisy UMD drive that wakes the wife up :) The buttons are a bit quieter and less "squishy." I own both, but I'm probably in the vast minority.

Edit: Lae, I actually think WipEout Pulse is a less attractive package than Pure. With the free DLC, Pure doubles in size. We were promised DLC for Pulse, but it never came.

Has anyone else had a problem with the in-game trophy system for the Pinball Heroes expansion that came out yesterday? They don't activate when you earn them and whenever you go to browse the list it just displays a trophy from the Pain table. I think I have to redownload it, but I'd hate to waste a download if the file hasn't been fixed yet.

Aren't any Virtual Console and WiiWare games you've purchased also tied to the console? So if you trade your Wii in for this deal, you lose any games you've got on there.

Crush and Mercury are both good but they get pretty tough pretty quickly. Exit is along the same lines, but not really my thing. My favorite is probably still Puzzle Quest. I can't count the number of times I've played through that game, even though the PSP version has a glitch that makes companion characters useless. I also love Lumines, but I can never finish a game in one sitting, which is kinda central to the puzzle game genre.

I've collected over 1000 games in my 20+ years of playing video games. Most of them haven't been played once, let alone beaten. A lot of them simply can't be beaten (most puzzle games, for instance). But it does irk me when I don't have a chance to finish a game I've been waiting to play. I've had Bioshock 2 since it came out and I've only played for about 15 minutes. Then again, when I got Assassin's Creed II I pretty much played that straight through with every spare minute I had. I'm doing the same thing with Picross 3D right now. I'll get to Bioshock eventually, so it's not a huge deal :)
