NEED HELP

I don't know why, but it has been quite a long time now and I have got no message from Gray Fox relating to the Thieves Guild final mission. There is a requirement that amount fenced  should be 800 gold, I have fenced more than 6000 gold. I get the message that I may hear from Gray Fox soon BUT it has been days of waiting and waiting.........and I've waited in every city too.......yet no message.

Somebody plz help me out, and why have I faced this problem, it never happened before.

P.S.: I am wondering if the problem is due to the fact that I cannot use the best fence availiable i.e. 'Fathis Ules'. When I go to his house in Elven Gardens, he is not there. Instead, he is always at the inn in Chorrol.....more than that, he refuses to speak to me.....REASON...........after some quest I got the Honorblade of Chorrol and gave it to the Countess instead of him as I thought it right ( I had only joined the thieves guild at that time)......and this happened a very long time ago when I had played the game only a little. I don't think that the fact I am unable to interact with Fathis has any effect on Gray Fox's last mission.

jtcraft.......anyone........plz help.....so that I can continue my game.

To jtcraft: I got the Umbra you told me about, it really is fantastic and the best sword I have got.
