Developer choices like the one of EVOLVE developers should be CONDEMNED and not praised!!! It is perhaps the ultimate failure of a game model and it should be given as a bad example, something to be avoided in the future!
It is truly questionable why EVOLVE would even feature in a "Best Games" list, as well as it beating games like AC: Syndicate that, even though it's nothing ground-braking, Syndicate fixed a lot of the mistakes made by Ubisoft last year and seems to push the franchise closer to the right track...
And Project Cars not the top 20, give me a break. Perhaps one of the 2 best driving games this year...
Producers want to spoil EVERYTHING in trailers etc. before the movie is released (just to get more hype out of them) nowadays and all that does is hurt the movie itself, because there are NO SURPRISES left for the audience...
@tgMan69: Preferences I guess (on your last statement). And you are right, the Witcher 3 had a lot of bugs as well, but I the reason I hadn't remembered that earlier is because I only played the game in July (after some patches were released).
I'm personally in love with both games and it's just a matter of which one takes the number 1 and number 2 spots in my favorite games of the year. I guess the Witcher has the edge so far due to better (and further developed) characters and main story...
As far as GOTY awards go, the bugs will hurt Fallout 4 more than the Witcher 3, purely because of exposure from the media (and hype): Hype causes over-exposure which leads to over-emphasizing the faults/short-comings of the game and I think Fallout 4 was hurt more by that effect.
