The power star from Super Mario 1/2/3 on the NES was such a sought after item that only gave you limited powers to destroy those enemies you ran into. Alas, you still died when you fell in a hole or into lava... I always found it nice to have that power star, although you didn't find it that much in each of the games. In fact, in SM2, the system of getting a power star was different. You had to collect cherries and if you got enough of them (I think you needed 5 of them) then a power star would come floating from the bottom.

Would be nice to see some power consumption and heat tables in this review.
