After thinking about it, I decided to take your advice and go with the x2 5000+/MSI-K9A2 CF, and forget about the SLI support, honestly I don't think i'd ever buy a second card anyways. I would have spent a lot more money than I needed to. and I wasn't really 'willing' to spend that much on the cpu/mobo, I just thought I would have to pay that much to get something I wouldn't have to update for a while, and didn't realize how outdated the chipset was on the board.

But I don't understand what's wrong wtih the PSU I picked. Do a lot of people have problems with it?

Yup, think I'm gonna go with this one, unless I can find a similar priced one with the ports and audio jacks closer to the top of the case. (I don't care about the looks)

So I'm about to build my first gaming rig, I'm hoping to be able to play Crysis on at least medium settings. So Before I go paying nearly a thousand bucks I'd like some input, Like will all this stuff run well together (Will the CPU bottleneck the GPU, etc.)? Like I said, this will be my first PC I built myself, so I don't know much. I consider myself to have slightly above average computer knowledge, but I like to be certain.

CPU: Athlon 64 6000+ 3.00GHZ

MOBO:Asus m2n-sli deluxe am2

RAM:2GB G. Skill DDR2 SDRAM

PSU:Coolmax 650W PSU

GPU:Geforce 8800gt

Audio: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi

I decided to Skimp on the Ram, but given the amount of good reviews, I thought I'd take my chances.

Also, I'm not so sure about the PSU, I've heard you should have at least 700W...

The whole thing should cost around $930 (including shipping) if it's all ordered from Newegg, so Is there places where I can get some of this stuff cheaper? I hear some places have the 8800gt for less than 200, but I haven't found it.

Your PSP doesn't need to have internet access to update the firmware.

http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP/About/SystemUpdate/pc.html

Follow the instructions there to update the psp.

Honestly, the single player is fantastic, except for it only lasting 6-8 hours, and once you collect all the skulls and beat it on legendary, it quickly loses it re-playability. In my opinion, the multi-player is awful, slayer is the ultimate no skill game, I got bored with it after about 8 games.

All in all, it's a very average FPS, nothing worth buying a console over.

Hmm, for the original Xbox: Oddworld, Munch's Oddysee, I remember playing it at a friends house with the big ass controller and thinking it was awful, my grandma bought me one for Christmas that year with Halo CE, then I was hooked :D

Last week I woke up and saw a 360 magically appeared in my brother's room with Forza 2 in it, apparently my dad ran into some money and got him the new bundle, and they were out renting games, so I picked it up for a few minuets... and just like my first experience with Xbox1, I was incredibly underwhelmed, but the day after I played Marvel: UA and Halo3 and my fanboyism was renewed.

[QUOTE="Diozakrod"]also, I should add that the two other computers running on this network are floating around 7.6 mb themselves, so I see no reason why a wired 360 should be running any slower.zgreenwell

You aren't doing a lot of network intensive computing are you? If you're network is busy it could be causeing the problem.

Nah, now I think it's just an ISP problem, if I connect the console directly to the modem, the problem persists... Ugh, this makes no sense, I was downloading stuff fine a week ago. D:

It sounds like slow download speeds. Have you tried downloading something on a computer to see if it downloads slow there too?Thorpe89
Hmm, Downloading the CoD:4 demo from GS, I'm floating around 500-600 kb/s which, now that I think about it, a few hundred kb/s slower than when I downloaded it the first time. But at the same time, a download test at pcpitstop shows me at 7.6mb connection, which is good because my max is 8.

Wired, going through a router. Is there maybe ports that need to be opened?
