It was only leaked like a week or two before release, not months.

Probably due to the company he keeps...and some of the passages in his book. Why do you brush those under the rug as though they aren't important in determining his character?

famicommander

Examples?

From 'Dreams of My Father', "I CEASED TO ADVERISE MY MOTHER'S RACE AT THE AGE OF12 OR 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites" From Dreams of My Father, " I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER'S RACE". From 'Dreams of my Father', "The emotion between the races could never be pure..... the THE OTHER RACE (WHITE) WOULD ALWAYS REMAIN JUST THAT: MENACING, ALIEN AND APART" From Dreams Of My Father, "never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. IT WAS INTO MY FATHER'S IMAGE , THE BLACK MAN, THE SON OF AFRICA, THAT I'D PACKED ALL THE ATTRIBUTES I SOUGHT IN MYSELF. From Dreams Of My Father: "THAT HATE HADN'T GONE AWAY," he wrote, BLAMING WHITE PEOPLE,- SOME CRUEL, SOME IGNORANT, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives."

None of these quotes mention a hate for any race. They're about feeling neglected and such because of race

Right off the bat im going to say this is not, thats right NOT a religious debate. All I want to know is what the atheists think!

Im also going to say that im Roman Catholic, this is because i want you to know about where my questions come from.

I would also like to know if at anytime you were religious, just curious, you don't have to tell me though

1) What do you believe will happen when you die?

Nothing. Your brain/body stops functioning.

2)Do you think it would be plausible to think that some atheists would reject morality due to lack of any consequences?

I can only speak for myself. And I can easily say no.My morals come from wanting to be a good person, and believing in treating others as I wish to be treated. I don't need to fear god or any divine consequences to be a good person.

3)Do you think that God could be useful as a sort of role model and enforcer of morality?

Sure. God could be a role model to a child as much as Superman or Martin Luther King could be. Any character who is a good 'person' can be a good role model, both real and false. As an enforcer of morality, sure if you think scaring someone is the best way to instill good morals.

4)Do you think that conversion of any type (ie Religion to Religion, atheist to religious, etc.) is good or useful?

It can be. People are often born into their religion. So if they choose to stray from what they were told and study other religions and feel they better relate to them, then a conversion is good. Or if a non-believer believes, and vice-versa, then I don't see why that would be a bad thing.

5)Lastly why do you think God is false?

There is nothing to tell me otherwise. I believe God was created by people to answer the unexplainable, and to enforce power.

[QUOTE="gobo212"][QUOTE="Deity_Slapper"]

[QUOTE="Cube_of_MooN"]I don't buy the whole "born atheist" thing. To be an atheist, in my opinion, you must consciously reject the existence of God. Simply not thinking about it does not make one an atheist.Deity_Slapper

A-Theism means "without theism". That would be all of us at birth. We are taught to believe in such things as deities and the afterlife. And after people get used to something, they usually don't wanna change it. Doesn't mean it's true though.

Not according to Merriam-Webster.

You know that having the "A" before a word usually means the absence of, correct? Merriam Websters' definition was not complete, in my opinion.

i swore it was an not a. you know like an-aerobic

I'm pretty sure it's only 'an' one the word starts with a vowel...

'a' is definately the prefix here

No, I'd take it as a compliment, because it would mean they assume I get some.

The_Ish

Which, judging by that post...is a very untrue assumption, haha

Who's a drug addict when they're 16??

I'm gonna assume he smokes up a lot, and maybe does E or something so you labled him an addict. And the girl said you changed in a month? Haha, I bet you got all clingy and too attached. Since you posted this on gamespot and said you desperately asked her why she left you...after one month, I think it's a fair assumption
