@Ateas: "Sounds like" is a nice way of saying "It's a cash grab". Because that's what this is. If the app weren't making headlines and zillions of dollars...this would be a bunch of people grumbling about others stepping on their lawns. Instead, they see dollar signs and decide lawyer up and capitalize. Yawn.
@nikon133: Truth. But in reality, everyone has their own share of stupidity. Plenty to go around. Some people hide it better than others, some broadcast it on television.

Of course Marvel is welcome to change everything they like any way they like. If I really wanted it differently I would go make my own comic book characters & stories. Which I won't. I don't care that much. I just find it pretty lame, a bit stale and disingenuous to simply swap a couple traits and call it "diversity".
Seems like the better way to go would be to create new 1st-stringers as you put it, or put more focus on sub-1st stringers to make them into 1st-stringers to create that diversity.

Not exactly what I said, it comes across as apologetic for having characters that are white people. Flip it on it's head. Go into BET or Lifetime, or any and start randomly swapping leads out for white men and see if people are happy.

They call it "diversity" but instead it's basically the proclamation that "anything that is a white male can't possibly be good".
