Why is that?

The game isn't natively rendered in 1080p, just that the game supports being upscaled into 1080p. If you don't know the difference, I advise that you google it.

Google'd, now know, but how does this happen? I found no option in any MW3 settings or PS3 settings. Also, from Wikipedia: "On the PlayStation 3, developers must provide specific resolution support at the software level as there is no hardware upscaling support" does this mean that the game must support upscaling for it to be possible, or that it must support the full resolution instead of just upscaling?

Do you have HDMI cables, a REAL 1080p hd tv? (not the digital enhanced 1080p that just makes every thing stretched and grainy) and did you remember to plug it in?

Also is it a projection screen instead of an actual lcd?

That answers the first question. Both Xbox 360 and PS3 show true HD picture in other games, including PS3 version of Black Ops and X360 version of MW2. No streched or grainy...

Like many others, I got my Modern Warfare 3 yesterday, and was too busy with playing it all day to notice this but today I was surprised by it:

the game runs on 720p resolution even though the box promises that it can go up to 1080p.

My TV is HD ready and all other games with the support for 1080p use it.

Unless this is some kind of bug, isn't this kind of thing illegal?

The Gamespot front-page ad of Battlefield 3 implies that the site MSNBC.com has somewhere stated Battlefield 3 being the winner against Modern Warfare 3. This seemed strange to me since neither of the games are even out yet, so I looked into it. I never really look forward to 9/11 anniversaries for this reason. If no one sees them mourn it is unlikely that they are mourning just for the sake of it. Some people don't show emotions to people around them, and yet they can still mourn events like this that reflect the sad state of humanity in so many people's nowadays.

From the video review of Resonance of Fate I gathered that the combat is semi-turn based with multiple characters to control :p

I don't mind a bit tactical or challenging combat, but what I think I forgot to mention that I like real-time combat the most. I think something like hack'n'slash except a bit more complicated...

Bleh, most likely a game that fits my needs does not exist :d
