Because you don't have over draft protection your bank let it through and will probably charge you a $15-35 fee for insufficient funds.

OD protection doesn't prevent charges from going through, it only waivers the fee. It's your typical bank scam. But thanks to new wall street regulations, banks aren't allowed charge an exorbitant fee for a negative balance based on a certain threshold. If they haven't charged you yet, then $8 may have been just under the threshold.

Thanks for the response, do you think this is a daily charge if its not payed?

It would be great if someone could answer this:

Long story short, I purchased an app on Itunes that I did not have enough money for and noticed that after I purchased it. The charge went through and I owe originally $8.64. I never payed it, so I could not use the App store or update. Now, the charge posted to my checking account (a month later) and I have a negative available balance. Please Note: I do not have overdraft service. Which means the charge SHOULD have been declined as there was not enough. So why did Apple let it go through? Will I be charged an overdraft if I don't have overdraft protection?

Thank you both for your willingness to help, nothing I read before said anything about having to need to format the harddrive beforehand, but now I seem to have gotten it to work, it is formatting as I write this message.

Coyote_Black
Wait, so did you have to format the drive to FAT32 on your PC or PS3?

[QUOTE="Denji"]

My second 60gig referb from a Sony repair shop, that YLOD on me (like my original one). Reflowed it twice so far. Lasted a month the last time, but it was in the middle of the heatwaves in the summer. Tried it again, hopefully it'll last longer. But it gets loud. The only console to ever crap out on me in my entire life. I expect this from PC's, not consoles. What a piece of crap the PS3 is.

Denji

Correct me if I'm wrong, did you use the online PlayStation Service & Repair (you pay $150 for refurb.) or did you send it to a certified repair shop? If you sent it to a repair shop, I'm not surprised it died. I don't think the quality between the two are the same.

Yes, the refurb I got back was from Sony. I paid over $700 for my original 60gig, I wasn't going to take it to a regular shop and nobody was fixing PS3's aside from Sony (at the time) anyways. No fault of my own. The PS3 is a piece of crap :P

How long did your second PS3 (from Sony refurbished) last before it got the YLOD?

So am i the only person who has a Phat boy 80GB PS3 since launch without any problems? One thing i love about Sony is that they know how to build a solid console. I barely even clean the damn thing and it still doesn't want to die on me.

BattleSpectre

I have an 80GB (2USB) for over 4 years with no YLOD. Only the occasional freeze (rare) but if it does die, I will buy a super-slim. My PS3 has never been cleaned.

I am planning to buy MW2, however, friends have informed me that it freezes during online gameplay and offline during story mode. Is this still a problem or has it been patched?

Same here, 80GB (2 USB) and works just fine. Has a few minor scratches (only noticeable under light) but other than that, its good. Have any of you upgraded HDD's?

Hello,

For some reason I can't view any avatars. (not even mine) Its just a blank grey picture. Why is this? I am using Firefox latest version and Safari has the same issue.
