Does MW2 still freeze?

I am planning to buy MW2, however, friends have informed me that it freezes during online gameplay and offline during story mode. Is this still a problem or has it been patched?

I had it for years and it never froze on me. You can get it pretty cheap now.

I have to agree, never heard of any freezing with my copy when I had it for over a year.
