@hartsickdiscipl

...Turns out its a 430w power supply. Antec True Preformance 430. So I guess I probably can't use that after all!

After what you said I'm convinced I should just upgrade the power supply anyway. Any recomendations?

So I recently bought a new Dell Inspiron 560 computer.

Intel E5400 2.7ghz

6 gb ram

Intel Internal HD Graphics

Windows 7 64bit

I was going to go all out with a Radeon 5770 upgrade, but before buying it I took a look under my PC's hood and found that my power supply is only 300w, well below the system requirements for my GC of choice. I have a 450w power supply from an older rig I was thinking about using to replace the one in my new Dell. So my question is will swapping out the power supply cause any issues with my MoBo or system configuration?

Or would it be better to just get a comporable Graphics Card that will work well with the 300w power supply already installed in my system?

If the later is the case, can anyone recomend a good mid range GC that can won't destory a 300w power supply?

Thanks.
