I would save $70 more and go for Rock Band. I bought GHIII myself and received Rock Band for Christmas. While Gh3 is fun and has some great songs, I seem to like the songs on Rock band more, especially since with rock band, at least 3 new songs are released each week. And if you have friend, it's lot more fun to play together like a real band than battle each other or do a bass/lead co-op.

Also, the achievemtns aren't fun. Gh2's were perfect, some were easy, some took time. For GH3, all of them pretty much take a lot of time, some even require you to beat the whole game with a controller (boring).

If you really like the songs in GH3 over Rock Band's then go and buy it. But if it were up to me, shell out the extra $70 for a game you won't take your hands off.
