@TimmyDKJR: me personally i go back and finish games i really like but didn't finish for 1 reason or another... on top of my head Magna Carta 2 (which is not on xbox one BC) Wanted (the bullet curving game from the movie) Ragnarok on the PS3, theres 100 more but i can't think on top of my head
but games i want to revisit Timeshift ( i believe thats one of the first 360 games) Singularity, that glaive game with Michael Rosenbaum from smallville, Wet (the game annoys me like hell but i have a softspot for it)
And sometimes games might be on a console that you don't own, i have a N64 and switch, i missed out on DS and 3DS so i mean if the Switch or nintendo's next console is backwards compatible with those handheld game i would really be interested in it, i'd love to play Majora's mask (not played), wind waker (not played) , twilight princess (not finished it) and i'd really love to try out A link between worlds (not played) having said that i just realised those handheld games won't be backwards compatible they'll be remastered at best if we're lucky but you get my point haha
but yeah i wouldn't play COD on the PS2 or OG xbox same with sports games Fifa, Nba 2k (i played it on the PS2 when it was new but i don't think those are worth revisiting) seems dated compared to the newer ones.....up until the latest iterations haha
Don't you have any games on an older system you like but didn't get a chance to finish TimmyDKJR ?
for PC i absolutely love love love Dungeon Siege 1&2 but those games take next to forever to finish so i never finished them but i will one day haha
old consoles (without internet) have glitches and bugs as well but i actually think that works in favor of sending out good games, back then there was no updates and patches, whatever they send/sell out comes with their reputation as well, so quality assurance was high back then, heck i had a "mgh" addon for my snes, and the guy that sold it to us had about 800-900 games on it, so i was like a fat kid in a candy store, and i was probably to young to realise what glitches were and when i run into one, i thought "thats odd" or "cool" because its sooo rare
nowadays they send out betas, early access and heck even after 100 patches can't even walk A to B without falling into the ground, games locking up and junk, and don't give me that crap about games were simple back then and games are complex now, back then the games were simple because thats all they could do with the tech they are working with, nowadays shigeru miyamoto (the man himself) said back then making a mario game required hours of endless coding whereas now mario maker makes it so easy anyone can make a level, and some even make his jaw drop and eye pop, so don't act like these new complex games didn't come with new advance new perks
back then, they had to make games fun, so you'd come back for more and keep a good reputation
nowadays its all about being lazy, making/milking money and send out everything broken asap and fix it when people complain
the 'warlords' one ? i wanna play it in order, not sure if thats the first game, i've only played 1 game on the ps2, not the first one, and not the one with jean renos, i think it might have been 2, the one with the chick with 2 different eye colours, i really love that game played for 2-3 hours, then got the 360 and ps3 with all its HD glitter and gloss made me forget about that game and gave the console and all the games away, now i want to play it again hahah
@Archaicc: i can see your point about lugging around old tech and not advancing to newer tech, but at the same time, you have to realise, australia which is where i'm from just got booted out of the top 50 internet speeds, and if it looks grim for us, it'll look grim for the rest of the 140 (give or take) countries, trying to download a 50-100gig games let alone stream the full experience, do i think the world will go digital ? unfortunately yes, but first we need vastly improved internet speeds and reliability, its like teaching a toddler to cartwheel before letting it learn to walk and run first, not a great analogy but i think you know what i mean
4 and a HD trilogy remaster (similar to the dmc series) please please and pretty please with a cherry on top hahaha... we promise to pre order both hahah
