I've already switched over to PC. I got a new rig 2 weeks ago, and I've started rebuying some games on Steam. Console gaming will be trash this next generation: no disks / backwards compatibility, no used games, emphasis on motion control, big touch screen controller, etc.

I'm probably going to switch to the PC anyway. I'm getting one with a i7 processor at 3.4 GHz, and 12 Gigs of RAM. By the time the 720 comes out, the graphics cards with completely obliterate whatever is in any console.

I heard that the next XBox console will be less powerful than the 360 so they can build kinect directly into it. That means this next gen will be all about family motion control shovelware garbage. Plus, it's gotten to the point that in order to get the most out of a game, you have to buy $20+ of DLC. So, we're actually paying over $80 for a game. I'm getting a gaming PC with my income tax refund, and I just got a new 1920x1080 LED monitor with HDMI input. I'm thinking about getting rid of my consoles. I also like being able to mod PC games and use trainers.

It was on sale at Staples for $139, so I couldn't pass it up. It's the Dell ST2220L: 21.5 inch screen, 1920x1080 resolution, 8000000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, and HDMI input. The main problem is the weird screen coating. It looks like I'm looking through frosted glass, so the picture is blurred and distorted. The colors look off when I view my photos, and it's really bright and washed out looking, even if I mess with the brightness and contrast. I wonder if I should return it and go get the ASUS LCD monitor at Best Buy for $150. Maybe when I get my new computer and can use the HDMI input, it will improve some, but I don't know.

Is there another website besides Dell where I can customize a computer and have them build it for me? Dell doesn't give you a whole lot of options. They don't even put in a Nvidia card higher than the Geforce GT500 series.

I wiped my hard drive and reinstalled windows earlier this year. As soon as I get everything back on the computer, it starts with the internet problems. Would a new ethernet card help, or all they all the same? Also, my bitdefender scan doesn't show any viruses. Should I try a different virus protection?

I don't know anything about these new processors. There's one I want to order from Dell when I get my tax refund, but I don't know if it's much of an improvement over what I have.

My computer: Intel Celeron dual core 2.66 GHz, 3 Gigs RAM, Geforce GT 240 graphics card, Intel (R) 82566DC Gigabit Network Card.

One I want: i7-2600 @ 3.4 GHz, 12 Gigs SDDR3 RAM, AMD Radeon HD 6870 graphics card, standard USB 2.0 + 10/100/1000 ethernet.

My current computer can't even handle my AT&T U-verse internet. Every time a web page loads, the whole browser locks up for 15-30 seconds. I can't scroll or click on anything until after the 15-30 seconds. I can barely watch a streaming HD video because it can't load faster than it plays. The machine can barely function with 2 programs running at the same time. Would that new computer fix all these problems?

Netflix on the PS3 is awesome. The catagories are in columns and rows. All you have to do is scroll down to the catagory, and across to what movie or tv show you want. When you select something, a window comes up on the far right side with the description, and another window comes up in the center of the screen for things like resume, play from beginning, show more episodes, etc. Also, scrolling and navigating is very fast on the PS3. Plus, there is a search feature.

When I run the internet cable to the blu-ray player in the family room, Netflix is complete garbage. All Netflix is on the blu-ray player is big tabs going across the top of the screen with the catagories. Whenyou get to the tab you want, you have to push down on your remote and wait for everything to load, which is forever. When you select a movie, you have to wait for a seperate screen to load with the description and options. Also, there is absolutely no search option. You can only choose from the 75 selections that happen to be there in each catagory. Navigating is incredibly slow. I've updated the software for the blu-ray player, but it didn't change Netflix.

So, why isn't the layout universal for everything? Is there anyway to change it to make it like the PS3?

Actually, I have no idea why I haven't been saving the cases and storing them in a box somewhere. But, going back to cases is not an option now. It would cost $240 plus shipping to replace the cases for my 80 games. Then, I would have to buy empty blu-ray cases for my movies, and empty cases that hold 5 disks for my tv shows. You can't buy them single, you have to buy them in 10 or 20 packs which is another $30. Then, I would have to download and print the box art for the movies, which would look horrible.

So, I guess I'll have to go with the hanging sleeves option, or try and find cd books that have 3 ring binders.

For several years, I've been throwing away the cases for games and movies and keeping everything in cd books. Lately, I've gotten tired of the cd books. It's a pain flipping through all the pages trying to find what I want, and taking the disks in and out of the thing is a pain too. The real hassel is when you need to add new disks. For my cd book, you have to pull all the pages out to add a new page. It's that or re-arrange a bunch of the disks, or just add them to the end.

I've been thinking about going back to DVD cases. I found a website that sells the box art inserts and replacement cases for almost every game there is, but it would end up costing over $100 to get all the box art and cases back. Plus, cases hog a massive amount of space, so I would have to buy 2 big dvd shelves, which I don't really have room for. However, I do like the idea of seeing the cases on display with the box art. And, I do wish I had the cases back for my tv shows on blu-ray.

The other thing I was thinking about was ordering one of those Meritline storage boxes that have the hanging cd sleeves.

Crap. I can't decide what to do. I have 83 games and 170 movies, and want plenty of room to expand. What do you guys do?
