Looks great, the environmental effects are crazy. At one part I found myself watching all the trees in the background swaying in the wind. Can't wait, yet another game I need this year. . . . *sigh*

Well. depends.

Would you get the limited edition of DS2? Do you have a Move stick in the first place? The extra game DS:Extraction with it's Move support is a wonderful bonus, it's a lot of fun and was longer than I expected. DS2 itself is spectacular, but I wouldn't honestly recommend it if you haven't played the first game. The story is tied, in a million ways, to the original. Good part: you can probably get DS1 for like 20 bucks.

I would say get ME2 as it has a very cool intro interactive comic that sets things up so you don't miss the vital story points from the first. I played the original on the 360 so I couldn't transfer my decisions so this was a great way to keep my story going. It's an amazing game with a great cast of characters that you will genuinely care about.

Either way both games a wonderful games. I bought both and LBP2 over the last two weeks and it's been the best gaming month in a long time for me :P

I have three, or maybe four, Gamestops within drivable distance depending on which way I want to go. Honestly, there is only one that I do business with anymore. The employees are cool they all know me and are always helpful.

BustBuy is a place I avoid due to their business practices and the politicians they promote with donations and WalMart is pretty much the same. I disagree with these business's unenethical practices and use my one power as an American against them, I don't give them any money :P

I would honestly prefer a local game store as I would like my local economy to be more robust, but it seems like it just isn't going to happen. Although, there are a lot of local video stores still. Granted I use Netflix, lol.

Uh, if you look back when there was a higher concentration of "hard-core" gamers on PC they said the same thing about controllers. Mouse and keyboard always wins, who the hell would want to game with a controller? Actually, they still say it. . . .

Honestly, what a treasure! Between Extraction, Ignition and the main game, plus the other goodies in the box, I am very happy with the LE. I got rid of my Wii before Extraction came out and it is oh so good. The move controls are perfect! I just pre ordered the Sharp Shooter for KZ3, man I wish I had that right now, would make the shooting experience even more fun!

(Yeah I know the navigation stick would be useless in this game, lol)

Anyway, DS2 is shaping up to be all the game I hoped it would be and a whole lot more! As a fan of DS and all the related media (anime movie, comic, etc.) I am a very happy horror survival camper :)

[QUOTE="-Unreal-"]

This is one good reason PC gamers were in an uproar over dedicated servers. If you join a server which an admin is playing on, they'll just ban the cheater. But then again you also have VAC on PC too.

What happens to people cheating on the PS3? I'm guessing there's no cheat detection software involved. Do people just need to report players for cheating and hope Sony hunt them down?

2Chalupas

While it's true that dedicated servers can pretty much eliminate the problem, it isn't necessarily just because of the fact that it's on console vs PC. I mean there ARE console games where you can at least choose your game in a browser. I.e. Killzone 2. Those might not be 'dedicated servers' in the same sense as on PC, but at least with a system like that you can pretty much find a game and perhaps play in that same server day after day. If you find a game full of cheaters, than you can pretty much just avoid that server going forward. There are console games that at least have a dedicated server and are not peer to peer.

The problem here with COD is that it's both "matchmaking only" (totally random games) and you are at the behest of a peer to peer connection. Not even knowing much about hacking or netcode, I'm going to just logically assume that a "peer to peer" connection is going to be less secure from hacking than a game that runs on dedicated servers that are actively maintained by SOMEBODY.

P2P networks, from a security perspective, are not secure. In a PC environment a small P2P network might be only because you can upgrade or change the security on each individual node at the same time, as soon as the P2P network becomes larger you can't count on the individuals to keep their systems up to date. Server/Client networks are a million times more secure, not saying there aren't issues- there are it's just easier to control when you have the whole process centralized. The PS3 may be different only because the updates are mandatory meaning the P2P inherent problems with a large network won't be there as everyone is running the latest patches and security. Still, dedicated servers, in my mind, seem to be the smarter thing to do, but in this environment it doesn't seem like the companies want to invest the time and money. . .

I prestiged yesterday and the only thing I really noticed was that the higher level players can shoot and move faster. As long as you are still on your game you can mow through people just not as quickly as you can once you level up again.

Sounds good, now if they could only make the games more stable and less prone to disconnects . . . .
