Just out of curiousity, is there any way to free the guy caught in the bear trap without cutting his leg off? I tried everything and I think that's all you can do there.

GT5 is a major FLOP of 2010 for the PS3. Right alone with FF XIII, I'm still getting it anyways, but the game didn't live up to everyone expectation. The open video was a sure sign that this game was going to be far from perfect. An 8 min video so pooring and lame that most gamers would fall asleep watching it. I almost did. Having to install 8GB onto your PS3 and wait over 30 mins for it to complete before you can even play the game is just as bad. I have some advice for Polyphony. Just skip GT6 and start a new franchise already. Please!. Games like DiRT 2, Test Drive Unlimited 2 and even NFS: HP will be more enjoyable for most gamers then GT5. At least the online of GT5 works from what I've heard. The lobby isn't anything special, but online racing is fun and lag free. So at least I have that to look forward to.

How was it a flop right along with FFXIII? That game wasn't exclusive. Are multiplats that flop now attributed solely to the PS3? As far as not living up to "anyone's expectations," I think you need to clarify what you mean by anyone. And for someone that's supposedly getting the game you sure did slam it and the franchise in general.

I can't help but imagine what Turn 10 can do with 6 years and a hundred million dollars. :( Too bad we'll never know.

10 more minutes at work!! I cant wait to get home and read all the epic damage control/bashing i missed. Is it Christmas already? :Pnavyguy21
Pretty much. Bots are acting like their enjoyment of Forza 3 or even the 360 has been vindicated by this score. I think people that don't even like racing sims are delighting in this. I guess it's all justified since "all teh cowz said it wuld get teh 10."

You guys are funny. You'd swear an 8 was a 4. GT5 isn't perfect and I know we expected a lot after five years, but I'm still having a good time with it as are a lot of other people. No excuses, it fell short of expectations. That said it's not exactly a horrible game. Some of you are way too personally wrapped up in what one reviewer abitraily scores a game.

[QUOTE="Ratchet_Fan8"][QUOTE="CyanX73"][QUOTE="Ratchet_Fan8"]You treated your PS3 badly it seems,or something was messed up *not your fault* I keep my PS3 horizontal,no problems, only 1.I over played,11AM to 10PM nonstop, lol,it shut down by itself,i was sooooooo worried! it blinked red, people here told me it got YLOD,but its alive and well! :) PS3 60GIG since 2007

Well, it definitely is something being messed up because I haven't treated this thing badly at all. I keep it in a cool unenclosed place and regularly clean out the vents with one of those air in a can for electronic products. And I always keep it horizontal. I'm also a PS3 60gb owner since March 07. Thanks for the input though.

it could be only Demons souls, the disk could be scratched (Never use Gamestop again) have you had any other probelms with other games?

It's funny you should say that because I just finished having a PSN chat with one of my buds and he said he's going through the same thing. Weird part is, and I realized this after he pointed it out, is that this is only happening in certain games. It was really bad in Assassins Creed 2 but only annoying in Demons Souls. Anyway, I guess this is a problem that a minority of launch skus suffer from and it only effects specific games. And thanks for the advice but I haven't bought a game from Gamestop in a long time (Amazon Prime and free gift cards FTW!).

Occassional freezing aside, my PS3 has lately been generating weird angular like lines from in-game objects. Sometimes long black lines are coming off the main character and sometimes it's in the environment. I've been playing Demons Souls lately and the lines are actually the same texture color as the walls or enemies the lines are coming off of. I called customer service and the lady had me hold the power button to perform a series of beep tests and it seems like after that the problem has actually gotten worse (not to mention my system freezing more frequently).

Hoping that one of you has some sort of tip or solution for this. If any of you have had the YLOD does it sound like my system is on it's last legs? As a launch owner I was told I can either pay $120 for a refurbed 120gb or $180 for Sony to attempt to fix my current system (although she said they reserve the right to just send a replacement 120gb slim). Thanks in advance.

GTA 3, Vice City, San Andres were all going in a similar direction. R* was just improving each iteration of the series and expanding the environment. What we got in GTA4 was so different from the previous titles that many fans were turned off. The car controls, the protagonist, the storyline and the seriousness of it, etc etc. Not to mention the people that believed R*'s decision to go multi-plat limited the game in not being able to utilize the PS3's standard HDD or blu-ray space. They can still make a good GTA. The Ballad of Gay Tony showed me that. But they might not ever reach that same level of GTA hype that they once had.
