@powz: Can't really argue with that. Actually, I stopped playing BDO precisely because I felt it was shallow, but I think of it more like a personal taste than what actually defines the game as it is. I have friends who still play it and they're amazed with it. Not to mention it has undeniable virtues, such as the combat system (which is virtually flawless, and just perfect for PVP) and, as you mentioned, is beautiful on the eye.

BDO might not be your cup of tea, neither is mine, but it's a game with outstanding traits that a lot of people is actually enjoying. Me? I'm waiting for a game that offers me a more socially involved experience, with an actual crafting system, and an actual player-driven economy system. We'll see if Dark and Light gets closer to that; if not, I'll keep waiting for Camelot Unchained, or maybe some other unexpected surprise. With PC MMOs, you never know what's coming next.

@phili878:When you said "I am in my mid-30s now and in my limited free time I like to play games every now and then. I grew up with an Amiga and Atari, and I have a Gaming-rig that is constantly updated, as well as all the consoles", I had to go back and check your name, thinking maybe I wrote it myself and completely forgot I did (with age comes forgetfulness).

While we agree on that part, I completely disagree with your perception of "modern AAA" titles. While I, as you, have a powerful PC rig and other consoles, my PC is by far my main gaming station. I play on PC every title that is available for both consoles and PC, simply because my PC runs games MUCH better than any console out there, and also because to me is more convenient to play on my desk, with my extremely comfortable chair and using my monitor, which is more advanced than any retail TV out there.

The only console I use now is PS4, because PlayStation has by far the best exclusives (Nintendo on the side), and none of XONE exclusives has been engaging enough for me to decide to buy one and dedicate my precious and limited gaming time on it.

We, and everybody else I'm sure, do agree on Nintendo. I'm also getting the Switch and I'll also play as much as possible not just Zelda, but a lot of other Nintendo exclusive titles. God bless their hands and efforts.

A piece of advice: try some of those "modern AAA" titles on your PC, and you might get a pleasant surprise. Also, the true PC exclusives are the hardcore MMORPGs out there, and a lot of them are INSANELY fun and advanced games, specially the Korean ones. Take a look at games like Black Desert, for instance, or the upcoming Dark and Light (you can find this one on Steam, early access soon), or maybe even a more "serious" and "dedicated" upcoming game such as Camelot Unchained. These are just examples, but they might give you an idea of how much you're missing for using your high end PC rig only to feed on your own nostalgia.

@depman1972: I was born in 1980, played on a Comodore 64 (my cousin had one, God bless him; that karate game was awesome), and owned an Atari 2600, NES, SNES, etc., and currently I also own a mini-console where I can play games from those consoles (and I actually use it), so I think I have a slight idea of what games were back in 1892. You can give me Pole Position and I'll gladly play it without regard of the frame rate, but if you give me a full fledged, next gen game like Mafia III, hell yeah! I'll consider frame rate as a priority.

I'm guessing you don't know this, because, guessing again, you don't have a PC build good enough to play this kind of games at max graphic settings and 60fps (or more, if you have the proper monitor), but in some games frame rate is even more important than the graphic settings. And, I assure you, in every recent AAA title, frame rate makes a HUGE difference. Those of us that are looking for more than what a console can offer us, spend a considerable amount of money on a PC build to be able to maximize our gaming experience, so, in my opinion, it's only fair that we aim for a decent frame rate in our AAA games, which aren't cheap either. As a side note, I also own a PS4 (for the exclusives) and I'll buy the Nintendo NX as soon as it's released, so I don't consider myself a PC fanboy either, but I can't deny that gaming with a good PC build is at a completely different level, compared to consoles.

I don't give a rat's ass if you think I'm "worthy" of being called a gamer or not, but I'll tell you what I'm not: I'm not somebody who thinks he's such a big deal that he's entitled to tell people what they are or aren't.

Locked at 30fps? No, thanks. Once you get used to play at 60fps, there's no turn back. I'll wait until that's fixed.

@bunchanumbers: Nintendo would never include this game in its lineup. Sony might (and should), though.

Not gonna bash the game, since I haven't played it yet, and I think it's admirable when somebody puts all these efforts and resources on creating something new, different, but I think it's worth it to state some facts:

1. PC version is broken. While it's legit to create games that are "not for everyone", that suits different people and tastes, it is not legit to release a full priced game after years of development that is not a finished product yet, and, because of it, it underperforms. IT-IS-NOT-LEGIT! Please, to all the devs out there, stop doing that!

2. Hyped! Game was extremely overhyped, and Hello Games was OK with it. Hype always sells. It's free high-impact publicity! But it has a price, that in this case (as in many others) is paid with the rage and hate from all the gamers that, because of that hype, generated high expectations that wasn't satisfied by the final product. Hello Games knew this was gonna happen, and, while a lot of the rage comes from clueless gamers that hasn't even tried the game, it's fair to say they (Hello Games) had it coming.

3. Seems like a waste of potential. I say "seems" because I haven't played it, but I've seen plenty enough gameplay videos and reviews to realize that this game has the potential to do so much more that what it does in its current state. Hopefully, game will suffer drastic changes that complements and improves the general gameplay; otherwise, it would be a waste, a huge waste, an enormous universe-sized waste.

As soon as they fix all the problems with the PC version and offer us a really finished product, this game will go into my "must have" list, maybe will even be an instant purchase (because, lets face it, this game is bound to have a discounted price soon, and might be a good idea to wait for it). In the mean time, there're other games to play, not as many as planets in No Man's Sky universe, but plenty enough.

@ni6htmare01: When you say "they cost a lot", I guess you meant "they cost way more than they should". I'm not a graphic designer, but I'm sure my PC (8-core, 16 RAM, GTX 970, SSD) can do everything your Mac does, and maybe even better! So, yeah, indeed, Macs cost A LOT.

Looks like a game that starts fun, but gets old after a few hours. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the impression I get.
