Good to know. I was wondering where the Heavenly Sword footage was. I hope Sony posts some footage of Infamous and Echochrome as well.
You know two mainstream articles proclaiming Sony the worst of E3, as hyped and pumped i was after seeing everything Sony had to offer, i really am afraid for gaming. Yea i know its mainstream media they dont know jack about games, but the problem is that they are mainstream thus more people are going to continue to see this crap and want a Wii because "its the cool thing to have" and i swear wiifitness is going to probably sell like hotcakes.
Sigh, im honestly sad for the possibility of that type of gaming future.

Until we see a fall in game quality on the X360, PS3 and PC I don't think hardcore gamers should begrudge the Wii its success or spend a lot of time worrying about what Good Housekeeping, Senior Living and The Washington Post think of hardcore games.
On a related note, looking at all of the promising games being designed for hardcore gamers (Littlebigplanet, Crysis, Echochrome, VF5 X360, Ace Combat, Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4, Killzone 2, White Knight Story, Stranglehold, Halo Wars and RE5 spring to mind) and the fact that outside of Japan, hardcore games are selling better than ever, I don't believe the influx of casual gamers are hurting hardcore gamers. Sure, some companies are clearly moving away from the hardcore, but in some cases (EA springs to mind) those are companies who had driven away many hardcore gamers due to their overreliance on franchises and the lack of improvement in said franchises (Madden's 3rd year on next gen consoles, the developers are promising to get it right, though they made the same promise the previous years).
[QUOTE="Skylock00"]I'm sure it'll be fun...but really, RE4 was enough RE4 for me, and if this game is going to be more along the lines of that, and further drawn away from the older style of RE's, chances are it's going to fall off of my radar in interest. We'll see.EdgecrusherAza
Without Mikami involved, I expected this game to be a carbon copy on RE4's gameplay and idea's, and that's exactly what it seems to be. These guys don't want to take chances and end up messing something up without the big M around.
After playing RE4 again, I have to say they have their work cut out for them regardless, just trying to duplicate it. It was so perfectly balanced and polished, I'd really be amazed if RE5 was close to as good. Even with Mikami they'd have a tough time. RE4 was that good.
Its not like Mikami had been religious about improving RE's gameplay mechanics. Inbetween RE1 and RE4 nothing really changed. After the ground up revision that was RE4, I doubt he would have felt a deep need to reinvent the wheel so soon. Also, just because one guy on a team of 100 leaves doesn't mean that a series will necessarily fall off. DMC and GoW got by fine after the departure of their creators.
Sony really nailed it. They have more incentive than the other guys and it showed. The PS3 is fulfilling my expectation of being the Xbox of its generation (in that while its library doesn't trump that of its strongest competitor, its hosting more than enough great exclusives to make it worthy of purchase).
As a fan of free roaming games and busting stuff up (in videogames) I think Infamous looks extremely promising (it reminds me a lot of The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction). I wonder when we will see what Team Ico and Zipper Interactive (who made all of the past console SOCOMs, but isn't involved with the SOCOM announced for the PS3) are working on?
I'm glad to see that Sony seems to be putting an emphasis on quality original games for PSN (Echochrome looks kind of like Crush, which is a very good thing). I enjoy classic gaming, but all things being equal, I prefer quality original games. Speaking of PSN's Sony put up a huge amount of content (today I learned that the maximum number of items one can have in que for downloading is 16) though the Heavenly Sword demo hasn't made an appearance just yet.
Littlebigplanet still looks incredibly fun. Its too bad Sony is showing different stuff on four screens and thus keeping the camera zoomed out. In my tiny window I'm not able to see much detail on any given screen.
[QUOTE="Teufelhuhn"][QUOTE="dvader654"]RE5!!!!! THAT WAS NEW!!!! NEW!!!!!!!!
Did Chris suplex a villager, lol! Its RE4 with a new skin.
Dutch_Mix
Personally I'm okay with more suplexing.
Same. Resident Evil 5 = GOTY 2008. That was freaking sweet.
Considering how many RE games were made using the same formula, I would have been deeply shocked if Capcom had made RE4 substantially different from 5, but I love RE4 so I am cool with refined gameplay and graphics.
