In a related note, I received an email from Origin on my birthday congratulating me and giving me a 25% off coupon for some content on the store. So, me strongly considering taking the bait, I roam the Origin store to see what I could use it on and noticed SimCity (I like that stuff). However, this is EA so I had to read the terms of service at the bottom of the email for the lulz. And boy, did I lol.

The following provision had me going:

"...Excludes Star Wars® the Old Republic™, pre-orders, games released within 30 days of your purchase, Valve games, partner titles distributed by Origin, virtual currency and game time codes."

In other words, EA: "Don't buy anything from other makers and give us all your money, we don't feel like sharing profits."

And they sell Valve games. That's Gabe Newell not so subtly telling EA that he's blowing them up.

With the haste at which this preorder hype show happens, your article hold a lot of weight, Brendan. SimCity has a preorder page set up on Origin and they didn't give a month or a day in 2013...

GOM is a sweet idea.. since I bought an X-Fi sound card I use Creative MediaSource....GOM is still sweet though. I also would suggest keeping CCleaner in your arsenal, just to keep your PC tidy. I run it every 2 weeks or so...

First hand I, think PC beats the consoles. Me and my roommate run Fallout on a 9800GX2 and a 9700M on our PC's and the dude a few floors down plays it on a Radeon 4850 as well. After playing it on the PS3 and 360, PC's walk all over it... and @ xmantisx: Quit bagging on Nvidia's stuff, when you run on a 4850 on a 3-way SLI mobo (780i/790i)..hmm...which is Nvidia based if I'm not mistaken....rofl. It's an amazing mobo, huh? I run on it too.

I got a 9800 GX2 as well. It performs pretty well, and it should last for a while before I go to Quad-SLI.

_ramtin1001 you could run crysis with those specs. I might suggest changing you're RAM timings. I don't know how much cooling you got in your system, but that might help. Mine are at 4-4-4-15, but my motherboard did it for me and I OC'd my q6600 to 3.2GHz. I get 43 FPS with those settings and a GX2 on high..to me it's not high enough.

Man....Nvidia pulls another one? I just got a GX2 about a month ago and my 3DMark06 Score was 16726. Grant it I did OC my quad core to 3.2GHz. But $650 for a new card with a $500 GX2 just trailing behind it? I don't think the extra 700-800 points on the Vantage test justifies paying the extra $150.
